I looked at a us made kramer that i wanted, it was used too, it had the same pickups and the neck need some work, but i'm too picky with the neck so i chose this one.it has no bad aspects, the good thing is that its strong as hell, and it can fit any style.it also dosen't have all these knobs thatmake you take longer setting up the sound at a show. i like it simple, and ready to play.

Made in the us,maple neck, 21 frets, 2 volume,1 tone, 2 humbuckers closed, passive, white finish, ibenez type body, string through, stock tuners
The action is perfect for me, every fret sounds clean. the neck is very important when it comes to my playing.compare to other basses i don't know, but i love this bass the best i've ever had.the only flaws it had was the dings that it had from it being used but other than a couple of dings it plays like a beast.
A digitech effects pedal, and a hughes n ketner amp. i play alot of blues scales, and things that sound very indie rock. this bass fits just about any style of music.i love this style of pickups, before i always used fender style basses, they can't compare.its not noisey at all.and i think that this bass works good for both.i have recorded with it and its perfect, i've played other basses that cost alot and there is not that much of a difference at all.
The neck needs a little adjustment from the shop, but this thing is a beast
A great, inexpensive, quality starter bass from Peavey. Worth every penny and more.

I really enjoy my 1988 Peavey Foundation S. It's a work horse, with both active and passive electronics.
This bass has a very typical thin Peavey neck, which allows for a very quick action for the 34" scale. It is very playable.
This bass is great for a wide spectrum of musical styles. I use it for funk to country. Due to my strange set up of both active and passive electronics, I can shift the sound from a deep "Fenderesque" sound to a bright pseudo-Ricky sound.
This is a workhorse, built to last. I've been gigging with it solid for 3 years, and it's never failed me, even though its 17 years old.
For $100, very good investment
Price: $100.00
Where Obtained: some dude who got it from some guy who bought it from a guy who probably stole it
I feel a bit bad for whoever this was stolen from, but i figured that once it is third or forth hand, there is not much you can do.
this was a very nice soundin , playing and looking bass
very basic stuff and built well
a supurb biginners bage and a pretty darn nice bass for non-beginners too
With action set fairly low, she was a treat.
pretty small neck
Sounded good
not super or extraordinary, but still very nice
Well, it went through a lot of owners in a short period and stayed outside in the backseat of a car in the Canadian winter for about three weeks and it still woked fine, (needed to be tuned )
so i would have to say that it is quite a tuff bugger!
FRETLESS,FRETLESS,FRETLESS,FRETLESS,FRETLESS!! I would
definately buy it again if it were stolen. IT could use a
presence knob. FRETLESS,FRETLESS,FRETLESS

FRETLESS!!!!! great for all types of music, especially
jazz and classical. Best fretless bass I've seen, which,
sadly, isn't saying much. Slap works great on the E and A strings, but thumb slaps get really weak on the upper two, whereas finger pops work fine all over. FRETLESS!!
I use it with my Ibanez SW20. I play Jazz, classical, and
rock on it, it handles all 3 perfectly. Has a great full
warm sound to it. The only other basses I've played have
been up-rights. The sounds fades the slightest amounts in
the upper possitions on the G-str
I bought this used and it still remains in great shape.
Almost completely unaffected by climate changes
I still go back to this bass when I need to do something really funky or extra creative. For it's price, it's a great bass. Definetely a good beginner bass.

It's 4 strings, two precision-type Super Ferrite pickups, jet black, and made in the good ol' USA. It has a volume knob and two tone knobs.
This bass plays great. I can play with all my fingers easilly on it and can slap it easily. It's just 21 fret, but still has a good range of notes.
I've played some better basses as far as sound, but this one rocks for the price I paid for it. I've played rock, country, metal, and funk with it and it handled it swell.
Over the years... like 4 years I've owned it, it's earned a few scratches and is harder to tune.
This is an execellent bass for beginners to intermediate players. Nothing fancy about it just a straight forward work horse. It is my first bass and as my collection grows it will always be with me.

It is U.S. made using maple for neck and body. 4 string with 2 passive pick ups. Black paint job on the jazz style body. It has all stock Peavey hardware.
The neck is rather narrow (not a bad thing). The action is average and it plays OK.
I really enjoy the sound of this bass. It has a nice growl to it. It pops and slaps well. It records well. I wouldn't change a thing to alter the sound.
This bass rarely requires tuning or adjustments. I've had no problems in any setting with the bass. It performs flawlessly every time. I don't mistreat my equipment so I can't report on how well it takes a fall. This is a solid peice of equipment.
The only way this bass could've been better is
if it had less fret buzz, and maybe 5 strings. If
you need an afordable bass that will be
around for 10 to 15 years and can be played
on a pro level, the Peavey Foundation is for
you.

pickups. Red finish works great with this bass
as well as black, mine is red. It is exactly like
the fender jazz bass, but bigger emg style
pickups. Locking tuners, butterfly style, are a
must, and this bass has them.
This is a great bass for the price range. The
other fender 500 dollar basses i played don't
come close to the "worn in" feel of this bass.
No flaws that i can tell, but a little fret buzz on
the top 3 frets
I use a Carvin Pro-Bass 150 watt amp with
this baby, and it rocks. It is way better to be
fingered, doesn't respond well to a pick. Very
warm sound and great tone quality.
The most reliable bass i have ever seen. Pick
this bass up just for the durability.
I just fell in love with this bass. I'm still a Fender guy, but I now have another love on the side, Peavey Foundation.

I've been a long time Vox and Fender Guy, but was sold very quickly to this bass. For the starter or season guy this works so very well.
Sounds as good as you can play.
I was looking for a nice starter bass. I had been playing on an Ibanez which are very playable, but tone wise don't give me enough depth. This had the versitility that I needed soundwise with a very playable neck. For $300 that included a hardshell case, it was well worth it. If this bass was lost or stolen, I would probably buy another. I'm looking at buying an active Carvin, but I'm going to hang on to this one for a long time. It takes a lickin', keeps on tickin' and is a very nice, solid bass.

This is a 4 string passive bass. It has 2 single coil pickups with a jet black finish. The neck tapers a whole lot which I actually like a lot. It is a solid well made bass. I got this from a guy that had only used it once or twice before he came into some money and bought his "dream bass".
It was my first bass and played very well. The guy who had it before me may have tweaked it, but it played very well and I haven't had to adjust anything yet. It has a nice low action and plenty of room between the first pickup and the neck for slapping.
It is a very versitile bass, I can get some really solid jazz tones and a good slap tone and a good rock tone too. When both pickups are completely on, they hum eliminate, but if they are partially up, they are a bit noisy. All in all, very versitile.
I have had the bass for 2 or 3 years now and it has held up extremely well. I do have a tendency to ding it a little bit, but I've never had to do any major adjusting. The hardware is heavy duty and the frets are like new.
