I friggin' love this bass, and people compliment how it looks and sounds all the time. the only way MY bass could be better is if the person that owned it knew how to take care of instruments, but my tech made it beautiful again. the versatility of this bass is something to behold, and the electronics are amazing.
Model Year: 1999
Price: $700.00
Where Obtained: private seller
Features:
18 volt active VFL pickups, super quiet, amazing for recording. controls: blend, volume, bass, mid, treble walnut and wenge(top)- very classy combination of woods, sounds great. two octave fretboard gold hardware
Playability:
These basses are insanely easy to play, the neck is easily navigated, and the long scale ensures a tight B string. my cirrus is not a perfect 10/10 because the previous owner didn't take as good care of it as i do, i'd give it 9/10.
Sound Quality:
I use an ampeg svt3 pro and peavey cab(soon to be eden). the cab is losing it cuz it's old and beat, that's why im upgrading, but through a good cab this bass shines beautifully. i love the sound versatility of this beast. it is better than any bass i've ever owned, and it's my 5th bass.
Durability:
Any cirrus owner will tell you that these things are monsters and are built incredibly well. even in crappy upstate NY weather, the intonation and tuning stays put very well. i've never had a problem with this thing, and i don't think i will ever sell it.

Got my eye on a cort 3435 at the moment :D if it were stolen id find who had it then post them roadkill till i got it back.
Price: $275.00 $500ish (new)
Where Obtained: local shop
Features:
I was searchin for someone else review but couldnt see nay so heres mine :) its a greAt compact bass, nice sounding, good value for money. it has a maple mahogony thru neck, with passive electronics, peavy style humbuckers :p unlike most 'cheap' basse sit has a great slap sound, it is my second bass, i upgraded to it after around 8months of been on a cheap beginner jazz copy. ive had it for around 11 months now, and have my eye on a cort3435 if that emans anything to any of you :p
Playability:
The stringspacing is 6mm as its a 5 string bass, but i cope better with small spacing than large as my hands are small compared to other basses, the strings are very easy to fret and have a tiny fretboard gap :D! theres no buzz or dead spots unless caused by technique. the only problem with it is it kind adints easy and the input cable bit unscrews and keeps needing toghtening :p
Sound Quality:
Sounds good through any amp, but the popped notes lack a bit of punch. tapping's ok on it, but you need to boost the volume, prolyl coz its got passive electronics :(
Durability:
Everythings fine other than the unscrewing input part as mentioned above!

My first bass was a Gibson Epiphone - sucked. My second was an Ibanez 5 string, not a soundgear, but I don't know what model it was. It was pretty good. This is my third, and it is so far beyond comparable to either of the other two I've owned. A buddy of mine has a real nice Ibanez 5 string SDGR, which I like a lot, but it doesn't even approach mine. I have never seen a bass I like more than this one, and it is only by God's blessing that I was able to get it.
Model Year: 2001
Price: $1235.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Music Man's Music Depot, Jacksonville
Features:
Handmade in USA Walnut body, pau ferro fingerboard, graphite stringers in neck, graphite reinforced headstock, dual truss rod. Fretless, 35" scale length, 24 fret markers, abalone inlay at 12th "fret", 5 string. Volume, pickup pan, bass, mid and treble knobs. 18v active electronics, shielded, "studio quiet". Two VFL (Vertical flux loading) pickups, wide magnetic field. Natural finish Gold tuners and bridge (fully adjustable except for string spacing). Dunlop Straplocks. Comes with nice hardshell case, but the tuning machines bump the case, raising potential to detune your bass everytime you put it in the case.
Playability:
Action is extremely low, due to being fretless, but that's adjustable anyway. Slap is a little challenging. Best I've ever played. 5th string easy to reach. Higher notes easy to reach due to cutout and small body.
Sound Quality:
I use a Peavey SessionBass head, with a 4x10 cabinet. I haven't played on the amp much, because I don't keep it at my house. I've mostly been playing through a guitar amp but using my Sennheiser HD600 headphones to listen. This bass is great for jazz, though I could reccomend it for any style (maybe not for slapping, its not that bright of a sound). Pretty mellow, deep tone.
Durability:
I just got it (one week) so I can't really say, but the construction quality is very high.

This is a serous bass but don't let that put you off, it is suitable for any player. You can obtain your preferred action on this bass, mine is set up for slapping so it is slightly higher then most. The neck is not as wide is most 5-strings which means you can hit any note, any where on the neck. One of the best basses around.
Sound Quality:
One of the best things about this Bass is the quality of the construction and the materials used. Look at the woods that have gone in to this creation to give beauty and most of all lots of tone. The combinations of tone woods used in the Cirrus bass make each instrument a unique and beautiful-sounding work of art. These woods have individual properties that give the Cirrus such a variety of tones. Coupled with the superior electronics, the Cirrus becomes the new standard in bass guitar technology. Maple/alder body Maple neck Crisp Highs Smooth mid-range Warm lows. Bubinga/walnut body walnut neck Accentuated mid-range Crisp highs Warm low end. Redwood/alder body maple neck Smooth mids Smooth highs Smooth lows Lightweight.

It will last forever thanks to its dual trust-rods.
