This passive/active p/u was a humbucker in my Warwick FNA. NOTHING EXCITING!
Sound was lethargic copy of the lethargic Basslines.
Had the Basslines preamp also. It was noisy and week!
Very unreliable! Would cut out!
MEC large pole pick-up that is powerful and versatile, mounted in just the right location for that serious Warwick growl. It is coupled with the very popular Basslines active preamp specially designed to complement the pickup. (from Warwickbass.com)
-it is all true and you may want to try this Warick FNA jazzman or just the warwick FNA to hear the sound of this pick-up.
Price: $60.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Guitar Center
-this model came with the bass. All warwick basses come with mec unless other pickups are specially orderd.
-there are active/passive electronics
-MEC large pole pick-up whcich kicks a**
- i use a sm-400 into a goliath III and it sounds great.
-makes little noise when not playing but is ok.
-when trying to cut down the noise it is possible with the amp but with out sucjh a good head it is hard to cut the noise lever down with out usein the amp. Useually i will have to play real low to get rid of noise. BUt that is not a problem now.
-it is full and warm sounding though. Through this set up I have it is a monster pic up. My amp can not hadle all its own power.
-it has its own sound prolly because it is on a warwick... it sounds amazing
-Durable it is great!
- does not eat the batteries to much eaither.
- i never needed a replacement pick up so far.
