Great investment. beginer instrument. over all it is a cheap bass, compare it to any exspensive models and it rates a 2 on this scale. rating from same price range models it gets 4
Model Year: 1998
Price: $200.00 (new)
Where Obtained: guitar center
You can play anything any style of music you want on this bass. it has a great natural feel to the instrument the only reason not a five because the action is a little high for my preferences
I never had a problem with my sound on this bass
It lasted 5 years so far and its better now than when i bought it.
I love it. Probably wouldn't sell it because of
it's emotional worth. However I would love to known more about it. I have never seen another one in the UK in
23 years of playing.
Price: $0.00
Where Obtained: Inheirited
I inheirited this instrument from my uncle.
He play jazz and bigband, some dixie stuff.
Originally he bought it in Melbourne (Austrailia)
and had it shipped back to the UK.
He is no longer with us. But he left me this great bass
that have very little information for.
It is a beautyful thing, rosewood neck with pearl inlay
scale markers. Even the Yamaha name on the (two aside)
head stock is in pearl effect. Alas though no numbers or
model type.
It's a Gibbson style floating bridge with a wrap around
string strecher. All chrome hardware with the exception
of the tuning pegs and controls(black plastic). Passive.
It plays like a dream. I have it strung with flat wound
RotoSound strings. It's like gliding through a fine mist.
Unlike my other bass a Squire Pressicion Copy. That's like driving a tank through treacle in comparison.
Plugged in or Unplugged it just sound
fantastic. Warm, rich, deep
Durability:

It is getting to the 'delicate old lady' stage.
You certaily could not do any kind of slap technique
using it. But for what it can do, deep dub to solid
fundimental tones, it does it rock steady.
I wouldn't like to gig it too hard but I have nxt too me
in the studio most times. It's perfect for quick idea trying because of the semi-accoustic nature of it.
