I looked at Yamaha, Ibanez, Fender, Peavey, Carvin, Cort and ernie Ball/Music Man. All great basses but not always available according to the (deepest) wishes of a lefty bassplayer. Since I was very happy with the Basscollection SB-320 LH (4-string), this 5-string was a golden opportunity to buy. It even has the same finish! The instrument is not cheap (approx. 220 $ per string!) Luckily my beloved wife shrimped and saved in order to buy me this bass as a present! Thanks, Chrissie!
Model Year: 2000
Price: $1200.00 51,880 BEF (new)
Where Obtained: Key Music Sint-Niklaas (Flanders - Belgium)
Features:
Japanese fabrication, bolt-on-neck with 5 bolts, body SEN, maple neck, 24 frets, SCG 2x Humbucking, controls VB, H&L EQ, Bridge TH5, Pegs GOTOH GB7 L3R2, Nech width: 0F:46mm, 24 F:77mm, neck depth: 1F:21mm, 12F:23mm, String space: 19mm.
Playability:
Very playable neck for a 5-string, it's playable with the same ease as the 4-string version. Light bass, fast neck. Great and growling sound.
Sound Quality:
Used with Peavey T-MAX and 412 TVX, this bass is very versatile in sound. The sound is full, compared to my 4-string Basscollection it's even more richer (humbuckers). Perfect on stage, perfect for studiowork.
Durability:
Very solid work (of Art). Hardware is very good, compared with my 4-string, this bass is more "professional" built.
