Like I said earlier, This is a great beginner bass or a excellent back up for the end of the show when your shoulder is taking a beating!!
For what it is , and the cheap cost it merits a 4 star rating. Although all things considered, up against a high end bass, its no competition.

This is one of Ibanez's Luthite basses. It is supposed to be ultra-tough plastic. Mine seems to be.
The only thing thats real wood on this thing is the rosewood fingerboard.
It is made in Korea. It has a whopping 24 frets!! 3 more then my other 2 basses. It has active electronics. 1 Volumn knob, 1 blend knob, 1 bass boost, 1 mid boost, and 1 treble boost. Its very light weight, and probably the most comfortable bass I've ever played. Get One!!
The action was very low, it has an excellent bridge with open ends for quick string changes.
The headstock is small so there is no chance for neck dive.
It is light, and the body is contoured to fit your body, making it so comfortable to play.
It doesn't quite have the sustain of a wood bass, but with the active electronics, it does alright.

It seems pretty tough, but I would worry about having the luthite in th cold. Plastics tend to become brittle under cold conditions. Other then that it seems very durable.
I've been very happy with this purchase. I wish it came in a fretless. I would probably buy this bass again.

Black luthite body, two soapbar pickups, bolt on neck, 3-band boost/cut active EQ with volume and blend knobs. The battery is behind a 5 screw compartment, which isn't easy to change. The battery seems to last a decent lenght of time, but when it goes, it goes quick. The sound then sounds like you've blown a speaker. Neck is excellent, fit is very good. The body is one color all the way through, so the finish always looks good, like a solid surface sink.
It has a thin maple neck which is very comfortable on my hands. The contour of the Luthite body is well thought out, but does add some weight.
There is a little dead spot on the D string, 5th and 6th fret, but EQ it right, and it doesn't bother me.
I play it mostly through our sound system that has a pair of EV subwoofers. The main style we play is praise and worship, so I tend to hold back more, and provide a steady groove. There are some youth group songs that tend to be more out-front, and the Ibanez has a good dynamic range and a full sound.
It seems to be very durable. I'm pretty gentle with it, but there are always things out of your control, like a fall out of the guitar stand, and it's had no problem. With the solid luthite body, it doesn't seem to ding like a typical wood body would. I did have a little issue with the strap lock screws wanting to back out, but nothing a little glue wouldn't fix.
