What other basses did you look at, and why did you choose this one? Spector Performer, Fender Jazz Basses, Ibanez, etc
Would you buy this bass again if it were lost or stolen? Yes.
How could this bass be better? Oh, you can't change the standard P-Bass! This is the Fender original. There's no way you would want to change it. That's like changing a Rickenbacher... Crazy fool.
What's your favorite aspect of this bass? Reliability, playability, versatile in styles, and it's sound.
The worst aspect? Weight, I'm a mini you know.
Anything else you'd like people to know about this bass? I'd recommend it for all from beginner on up to pro.

How many strings? 4 string, Fender Super Bass 7250ML
What controls does it have? volume, tone
What kind of pickups? 1 Standard Precision Bass Split Single-Coil Pickup Mid
What kind of finish? Brown Sunburst
What's the body style? Precision
What's the bridge style? Standard Vintage Style
What kind of tuners? Standard Fender Chrome
"New" Knurled Chrome P-Bass Knobs, 3-Ply White Pickgaurd
Punchy tone, vibrant play, comfortable for a little mini like me (I'm 5'4" 120 lbs) with tiny hands, very petite person.
Precision is the absolute best to start out with because of the baseball bat neck (excellent for teaching dexterity)
I chose the Precision because it was simple and fit my budget. I didnt need any fancy active EQ or neck thru bass, just something to make my music.

This bass has an alder body with a maple neck and 20 fret rosewood fingerboard. One split humbucker, with volume and tome controls. Mine has a kind of green finish.
This bass is great for my slaping and agressive finger style. You can get the highs and lows you want. The neck feels good too.
I use a Behringer 60 watt and a Squier 15 watt, and they both make the bass sound good. I also use a Zoom multi-fx pedal, which works well with this bass.
Same issues as any wooden instrument. Humidity affects the neck. Other than that, it is quite low-maintenance. This bass really stays in tune though
Great bass for the money, definatley recomment. Looks like an $800 bass and sounds like one too!

Great bass for the money.
Very easy to hold and feels great. The next is easy to manage.
The sound quality is above average all the time and people notice a difference then when i play my squier p-bass.
Solid body and very solid feel.
What can i say...Fender is an Institution man....its THE tone....i love it, i love my mexican pbass. I would DEFINATELY buy this bass if it were lost or stolen....although i might save up for a american or vintage model. Worst aspect is the weight...its pretty bulky...

Its mexican pride definatly!!! Tis' just a 4 string. The only thing that i've changed is that i've put a fender moto pearl pickguard on it...its a arctic white pbass so now it looks really sweet. Oh, and i put chrome dome bass knobs on it as well.
The playability is pretty sweet. The neck feels really nice and warm to me...like home. The only flaw that i can think of is that you cant slap too big of gauged strings on this thing because the nut doesnt except much larger than your standard sized....
I have a Crate BFX-100 amp and it sounds really good. Just how i want to sound...I play jazzy rock, sometimes funky.....again, like Tim Bob from RATM. I love his style, he plays a fender jazz. The sound is so fender man, i mean you cant get away from it. Its THE sound if you ask me...the only mods i've done is to replace the pickguard and the knobs.
I've been playing it every day for about 3 years (minus some stints it did with my friend Adam)....its held up and THEN some.
I looked at Standard Jazz basses. I knew I wanted a Fender but didn't know which one. Someday I will add a Badass Bride and pickups to beef it up.

Made in Mexico. Body is alder and neck is maple with a rosewood fretboard. It is a 4-string with 20 frets. It has a volume and tone. Is passive. Mine is a sunburst color.
I get a low action to get nice low tones. I play fairly fast and the neck can handle it great. I also own an Ibanez GSR200 and this one kicks its ass!
Currently I use it with a fender amp. I play Rock. I play 70% fingerstyle, 20% slap/pop and 10% pick playing. It is suitable for any kind of music. It is great for stage and studio.
This bass is a rock. I put on Schaller straplocks and is doing just fine.
I only looked at the washburn xb-120 besides this one. i'm saving up to get that one now, because my p-bass isn't good for slap. this one one. the washburn. no, i wouldn't buy it again. i'd get a washburn. but i would whupp whoever's a-- it was that stole it. i like the sound with a pick. too bad i don't like playing with a pick. oh well. i don't like the not-good-slappingness of it. you should get one. i did.

Made in mexico. rosewood neck. 20 frets. 4 strings. volume and tone. just 1 p pickup. passive electronics. precision body. non locking tuners.
I have fairly high action, so when i tune down, i don't get fret noise. It's easy to set it up for this. i set up the bridge all myself. the neck was good. but i smoked it off things. so it's dented. not too bad though. i wish it was thinner. oh well. it plays good except for slap bass. it blows for slap bass. unless i use my pedal. then it sounds ok.
I use a minx 110. i also use a ZOOM BFX 708. It makes it sound a lot better. i like to play with a pick on my p-bass. it sounds good. it's not too good for slapping though.i guess the sound is dark. i have heavier strings so it's not too trebbly. it's never noisy. even with my minx 110. actually, with any amp. even a crappy 30 dollar one i bought at cash converters. (that's a really bad store by the way). i've never recorded it in a studio. sounds good onstage though.
It's reliable enough for on stage playing. my ernie ball strings weren't though. they sound good but they are weak and s---ty. don't get them. that's not the bass though. just some information. i don't NEED to adjust the stuff very often. only once did the intonatin actually get messed up on its own. that's in over a year now. i adjust it frequently though. i like to keep it fine tuned if you will. i bought new strap locks. real good ones, so my bass doesn't fall off at all, but the originals were ok. i didn't do much jumping onstage then, so i don't know actually how good they were. they did fall at home sometimes though.i don't have much climate change. cold. that's about all. this bass has been very durable. i beat it up. someone threw their full drum kit on top of it. i was rather p---ed, because he made a huge dent in the back of it, but it was in the back so i don't care. nothing serious happened though. i was surprised.
A sweet guitar which is good for beginners (or at least me)

I like it but I don't really have anything to else to compare it to. I have played an Ibranez-sp? and I liked it more than it the Ibra. Easy to play good tone. by the way it's my first bass.

I adjust it every few days or so
Very atractive bass.
solid punchy tones good low and high tones
a little heavier than other basses i played before

Initially wanted to buy a jazz, but was converted by that awesome sound. Did Not like the stock pickups on the MIM jazz. Looked at Ibanez , Warwick, Rick, Yamaha, but never found anything to compare in the price range. I would certainly buy another if it were stolen. The standard p-bass gives you the best sound off the shelf for anything less than $700. With bridge and pickup upgrades it should be a real beast!

Where Obtained: Guitar Center, Westminster CO (Be wary of verbal promises from these guys... The pledges of support I got were alot different before and after I bought it! To heck with them, I plan to do everything myself anyway!)
Standard MIM, Midnight Blue. No modifications (yet). 1 Tone, 1 Volume, pure simplicity.
I have large hands, so the thick neck is very comfortable. The Fender strings that came with it don't really like to be tuned down (E string gets floppy). I plan to rectify this with some higher guage strings. The whole thing is very well balanced, so it pretty much stays where I put it. Very comfy bass. There was a ton to chose from between this particular store and another down the street, and I was wary of the supposed variability in the MIMs. They were all pretty consistent, though.
Sounds wonderful. Everything a P-bass should be. Warm, punchy, but can bark and slap well. I initially overlooked p-basses, but was an immediate convert as soon as I picked one up. I plan on putting putting on a Badass II brige, then some Seymour Duncans (Hot P-bass or Quarter Pounders? Somebody help me!) with maybe a chrome pickguard. Look out!
Neck needed to be tweaked gently after taking it home; The initial set-up became too flat after it settled down. After that, no need for changes yet. Needs strap lock buttons. Seems solid as a rock. I plan on voiding the lifetime warranty in short order, but I am not losing any sleep over it. The bass shares the house with young kids so durability was a priority. (Was that crashing sound the guitar tree being knocked over again ?!?!?)
Great bass for the price... I would buy it again in a heartbeat.... You can check the specs out at www.fender.com

Mexican made, Alder body, Maple neck, Rosewood fingerboard, 20 frets, 4-string. Volume and tone control. Standard P pickups, passive electronics, optional brown sunburst finish, P-bass style body, standard bridge and tuners... Excellent workmanship, no gaps between neck and body, excellent finish...
I started on a Squire P-Bass, and this Standard just melted into my hands like butter... Had no problem lowering the action to my liking...plays very well... Sometimes, I have a hard time deciding to pick up my Carvin or this Fender.... No obvious flaws to report at this time...
Peavey TKO 115S, Peavey Minx 110 practice amp, and Pignose Hog 30 portable... I play a lot of Sabbath, Zeppelin, and Aerosmith...also some Metallica and a little Staind... This bass sounds especially suited to the old Sabbath tunes... Good low end growl...really shines on Electric Funeral with a good old Dunlop crybaby... Not particularly noisy... I notice some line buzz when using the Minx, but not on the TKO... Could just be the Minx...
I've only had this bass a few weeks, but I really like it so far... Stays in tune well... Had the tech check it out completely before I bought it... Everything was right on....
Basically i bought this bass for 2 reasons...
First the price tag was pretty cool to see (and i was in a budget) and second my Ibanez is busted (well im trying to fix it...)
I really love my ESP... and i consider it a True metal Bass... and i didnt pay very much of atention to Fenders.. till I saw Chi Cheng of the Deftones in Mexico ( I went the 3 dates actually) and Steve Haris of Iron Maiden with FENDER BASSES... actually the thing that really hooked me up..was Chi banging his Bass ALL NIGHT LONG but i mean.. really punishing his bass...and after that the Motherf*cker was still in Tune UNVELIVABLE... Botom Line FENDER IS A TRULY diverse Bass dont matter what kind of Music you Play Fender is a GREAT company.. Great Sound , Great Tone, Great Playability.. even on the Standart model..wich i OWN... P-Bass for Metal, Rock, Ska, Punk, etc..
Jazz Bass for Jazz, Blues, Etc..
If it got Stolen i Would CRY A LOT... and i think that my next bass Is going to be a Fender....

Features... well
Made in Mexico(My country by the way), the neck is Maple and the Fretboard Rosewood , it has 20 jumbo frets, One Volume and One Tone and thats it..(but you dont need more..really...in my opinion),black finish, passive electronics ( i think..dont qoute me on that..) and bassically a really cool bass...It is strung with Fender factory strings but i Recomend using Dean Markley "BLUE STEEL" stings wich bye the way sound KILLER , or Ernie Ball... But IN MY CASE.. i stick to Blue Steel...
The neck is very confortable... but i still think that you need 24 frets instead of 20 for solo-ing kind a stuff, but if youre a metal head like me you dont need more than 20 frets.. Its really simple and fun to play...i really like my fender...compared to other basses.. i really have to say that i really dig it more than ANY ibanez (thats my opinion) AND ITS ONLY THE STANDART MODEL!!!
The Sound is EXCELLENT! i can say that answer is a no brainer... i really dig the Smooth , Fat, Warm sound it spits into my Laney amp... i use distortion , wah and Flanger.. and i basically play Metal with my band... but this Bass is made to play ANY KIND OF MUSIC and sound good doing it ... i really dig the sound... and compared to my other basses ( a ESP (LTD-B205) And a Ibanez) i really am considering of trading my headlining bass (the esp) to my fender cause it can take some punishment and still sound like the first day i bought it...
Like i said before IT CAN TAKE "A LOT" of punishment...
after a HEAVY SET and it still is in Tune... and the Pickups are holding up quite nicely it still sounding good...
I think it's a very good bass for begginers!

Made in Mexico,4 strings ,the classic fender precission bass!
2 pickups fender, maple body precision style.
2 non locking tuners(volume,treble)
I can't tell for sure about playability cause is my first bass. But i can play very easy.
The sound is not so good(for me)! It's not so clear!
I chose this bass because it was in my price range. I wouldn't get another one if it was stolen. I should have shopped around more before I bought it, because it's not the right bass for me. I think there's a little problem with the neck, which I have a guy checking out for me, and from what I hear this is common in the mexican made Fenders and Squiers. This bass is great for learning on, but there will definitely come a time when I move on to something I like better. If you play one and you like it then get it, just make sure it's right for you.

Made in Mexico. I'm not sure of the types of wood it's made of. 20 frets, one volume control, one tone control. You know, the standard Standard.
I can play what I want to play on it.
I was using a Crate BX-15, but now I have a Randall RG30X. I like the way it sounds through the Randall.
I've only had it a couple months. It stays in tune pretty good as long as I don't move it around in the case too much.
