Plays very well for any style. the neck is a lil more curved then most which can be a problem sometimes. it is a very good bass for beginners and all others. the biggest flaw that i have found is that when u first get it the pickups are to low and they dont pick up enough string vibration!
At the moment i am useing a 15 watt rumble, works very well, and distortions pedals work well with it. i play anything from metal to blues on it and it sounds good all around. the sound is very good, but if u dont have the pickups set right it will cut out and is irritating!
It is quite reliable but i wouldnt recommend it for a stage gig. it doesnt need to be adjusted that much after u get the strings streched out. the hardware is really good on it. everything holds up very well, the strap locks are
okay, but the strap slips of sometimes. i just got a strap with a smaller hole on it!
Overall i would have to say this bass is really just for learning the basics of the bass i would say if u have the extra cash just go with the Fender version they say the squire is the same thing but once u switch u will see the differance

Personaly i really dont like the sound of this bass ever since i got it i could neaver really get it set where i liked it
Durability:

I have had manny problems with this bass like the input jack broke the neack warped the neack nut broke into a million pieces
It's a great beginners bass, but once u start to play for real, u'd be better of with a japanese or an american fender...

It was made in China, i don't really know anything about the materials... 20 frets, 4 strings ... has volume and tone control ... passive p-bass pickups (squier version)
Action is very good, i really love it, plays better than mexican fenders... Great neck, no dead spots or anything... Of course, it's no american jazz, but plays great for a squier!
Real nice, warm sound, suitable for al kinds of music, but I wouldn't recommend it in the studio, 'cause there's not much variety in the sound, u can't really change settings or something like that...
Great durability, i dropped it a couple of times, before I had my strap-locks and of course, it has a few scratches but the neck and hardware are intact! I did have a problem with the tuner for the G-string, it had to be tightend, 'cause it was loosening...
If you want to learn to play bass, learn on this one. It won't break your wallet, and if you decide that bass really isn't your thing, or you just want to upgrade, you can sell it--it holds it value pretty good.

Made in Indonesia. Rosewood fretboard. One volume control and one tone control.
It plays very well. The neck was straight right out of the box. There is some slight buzzing unless you are playing on a large amp (I have a Fender BXR200 combo), and set your controls correctly. This bass is not very good for slapping technique.
Very good sound. If you expect this bass to sound like a vintage Fender, than don't get it. For the price, however, you will get the most bang for your bucks.
Seems to be very durable. I can play on it 2-3 hours a day and not have to worry about tuning it. I've had no problems with the hardware for 3 years now.
Price was the main reason for buying this bass.
It is a very good bass to begin with.

Squire version of the Fender precision bass.
Not many features, as with the usual precision bass.
Plays well for a $100-$200 bass.
Neck is comfortable with low action after some
adjustments.
Good full tone sound quality and decent sustain.
Fairly reliable, though the pick guard is single ply.
This can start to bend around the output jack.
Otherwise - very solid - no other problems.
The perfect bass for beginers.
