I was looking at old Mustangs but they didn't sound as funky. I definetly would replace this if something happened to it. Ladies and Gents if your looking for something fun and funky to play check these out. These are starting to go up in price. So get one while you can.

USA, alder body, b-maple neck, rswd board with pearl dots 19 frets, strat pu, 1 vol., 1 tone. refin black body, repro pickguard from Wd, 2 saddle bridge, nickle silver frets, jet wing tuners.
Playability:
I have this set low with no buzz at all. You can fly on this it's like playing guitar but better. This isn't going to win awards for looks or bells and whistles. But this has got this old school tone and record. eng. love it. Sounds like a baby P-bass. It does have a tendency to slip out but not that bad.
Sound Quality:
I use my Mesa rig wth bass-exciter. This best suited for blues or classic rock. You can't slap but it sounds good finger or pick. sounds like a baby P-bass. I was thinking of adding a noiseless strat pick up, But it has a 69 strt pick on it now. Don't know if I want to un-virgin the pots. It's pretty quiet. This records great haven't taken out to gig yet. Winter's are pretty harsh here.
Durability:
This thing is a 70 Fender and built like a tank. I Have not adjusted anything yet and it's hanging in there.

I chose this bass as a beginner bass. I like to call the neck 3/4 scale cause its longer then a guitar neck and shorter then a precision. This bad boy sits under my bed and hangs out there, along with a few others. 1972 musicmaster easy to learn on, play and besides its a fender. Its kindof funny to look back and remember all the good times ive had with this bass.
Model Year: 1972
Price: $150.00

When I bought this bass 23 years ago it was black, with a maple neck and rosewood fretboard with 19 frets, it was my starter bass. The bass come with passive pickups and someone had already installed a badass II on it.

I prefer the action low and it's very easy to play and learn on.

Like I said I have done many mods to this bass, it sounds great even after 23 years and I put the stock pickups back into her. Im gonna let my son play it as a starting out bass if he chooses to get interested in music.
Durability:
