Made in Corona California. {Baja Series}
Alder body, maple neck and fretboard, clover tuners {standard}, One P, one J pickups, Vol, Vol, Tone knobs,
Vintage standard bridge, Anodized aluminum scratch plate, polar white finish.
After a setup, played like a dream. Low action, no buzzes! Nice Jazz neck, very smooth. Satin finished.
I changed the pups to Bartolini's and didn't like them.
I put the originals back in. With the Barts, it didn't sound like a Fender anymore!
Fender Tough! Takes a boppin and keeps on rockin!
If any body buys one of these basses then i suggest uprate the frets for the heavy duty type, get rid of the rubbish strap buttons (always work loose) and if money permits fit a badass II bridge and you wont ever need another bass
Model Year: 1997
Price: $500.00

Made in usa, jazz maple neck,gold anodized pick guard & sunburst finish
The only drawback with this bass is that the frets are very easily worn with roundwound strings that leave grooves and can produce buzzing
I play through a fender bassman 100 and the sound is awesome
This baby is bullet proof
I have been in search of the perfect bass for 6 years when I found this one. They don't make them anymore and even when they did make them, they didn't make many, so it's a collectors item. If I lost this bass, I would need therapy for years and I would never be the same..Could it be better?... Yes, the paint job could have been better, but that's the only flaw.

This bass was built in the U.S.A and painted in Mexico. So, it was a combination effort on both parts. The body is Alder wood, and the neck is Maple. "She" has 21 frets and 4 strings. 2 pickups, 1 Jazz and one P-bass, each has it's own volume knob and one other for tone. Passive electronics, vintage white paint, gold pickguard. Bridge style is standard P-bass, non-locking vintage style tuners.
The neck is like silk, by far the best playing bass I have ever owned, and I have had my share.... Carvin,Gibson,Ibanez, Yamaha,Musicman, FenderLite, to name a few. The only owwie with her, is the paint on the back of the bass.. The paint is bleeding thru in one small spot. It can't be seen when I am playing it...so not that bad.
No effects other than a compressor. I have 2 different amps, one for gigs and one for practice. The one that goes to work with me is a 500 watt SWR, and at home is a 1970'S Earth Sound Research Superbass B-2000 with a JBL MR815 with a single 15 inch speaker...The neighbors love me!! The sound is superb, soft and fat to thin and mean, all with the twist of a knob or two. ..Sounds good where ever we go and what ever we do..We play rock and roll, I do very little slapping,and plucking.. pretty straight forward stuff, and it never lets me down.
She is used hard every weekend and at least twice a week for practice, a little tuning here and there keeps everybody happy, and no other adjustments have ever been made. I highly recommend strap locks to everybody. A bass on the floor is not a pretty sight, and really embarrassing.
