Was not even looking for a new bass but jumped on the oppurtunity when it arose. My favorite aspect of the bass is Fender's attention to detail in recreating the look and feel of a 62. This also leads me to my least favorite aspect... you have to take the neck off to effectivly adjust the truss rod. But hey, I wanted a 62!
Model Year: 1999
Price: $800.00
Where Obtained: Used
Features:
US made vintage 62 Jazz re-issue. Black with tortise pickgard. Two stacked volume and tone controls, vintage re-issue pickups.
Playability:
I bought it used and the previous owner had a crappy setup on it. Took me awhile to dial it in, but once I did it has quickly become my favorite bass. I play a Fretless Jazz and a 5 string tobias and this bass falls right there with them for quality. Each bass has a sound of its own and the vintage jazz is unique. It naturally creates a tone that I have been trying emulate for some time.
Sound Quality:
I play it through a ADA MB1 preamp into a QSC 1450 then run through two Mesa Boogie cabs. I play blues, r&b and jazz. This bass is perfect for those styles. But just look at different artist that have used the 62 Jazz. It can fit any style of music.
Durability:
Seems built like a tank. We will have to see if it lasts as long as a original 62.

Playability:
I CAN`T FIND ANYTHING I DON`T LIKE ABOUT THIS BASS, IT`S EXCELLENT TO PLAY, EASY TO GET THE RIGHT SOUND, AND KEEP THEM,THE TONE CONTROLS CLICK AND DON`T MOVE.
Sound Quality:
I PLAY THROUGH A SESSIONETTE,IT HAS A RICH FULL SOUND, WITH SUCH A WIDE SOUND RANG. IT WOULD SUIT MOST TIP`S OF MUSIC & STYL`S.
Durability:
I`VE FOUND IT VERY RELIABLE, I HAVE`NT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE SET UP. I FITTED IT WITH STAP LOCK`S JUST TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE.
