I bought this as a cheap backup. I got what I paid for. The neck was questionable and got worse as time went on to the point of useless. I'm told this is due to the "luthiers joint" in the neck. It had the best neck out of the 4 I looked at. The wood joint in the body has begun to show through the finish on the back as well. I give it a 2 because of this. Fender now owns Jackson. To my surprise it appears that they plan to honor the lifetime Jackson warranty. I'm told I'll get a new neck or a equivalent replacement guitar. We'll see
Price: $377.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Bizarre Guitar-Phoenix
Features:
Country of origin-not sure other than Asian, unknown body and neck wood, rosewood fretboard, 24 fret 5-string, active bass mid treble, pickup blend and volume, Duncan design MM/J pickups, vintage sunburst style finish.
Playability:
When the neck was in, it played very well, but setups never lasted.
Sound Quality:
On the bright side, it has excellent tone and electronics.
Durability:
Other than the wood joinery, it seems to be holding up.

God's honest truth . . . This is the best bass I've seen in a long time. (Even better then some of those $1500 basses). If you're looking for a new bass, I would look to the C5-MJ for all your bass needs. It has almost everything you could want in a bass w/o the price tag. A must have!!!

Playability:
This bass is very lightweight, making it great to play. You'll love the way you can just tap the strings and get a great sound out of it every time. The neck is somewhat thin making it easier on your hand and wrist.
Sound Quality:
It's great for any type of bass playing (Blues, Heavy Metal, Alternative, etc.). I play it on a Peavy TKO 115 S w/ a Zoom 506 Bass Pedal and it plays and sounds like a dream. By default, it has a full, rich sound to it. Depending on how you adjust it though, it could sound very warm or very dark. Just having that ability makes it a great bass for any type of music.
Durability:
It needs very little adjusting and it is very durable. No matter what the temperature is, it plays the same, which we all know is very reassuring. (Especially when it is out in the cold and you go to play at a warm gig)
