In an age that's dominated by pretty boy garbage, and cliched rap/rock hybrid, it's great to know that there are a few, unabashed, balls to the walls, pure rock and roll bands out there still. New American Shame happens to be one of them. How would I describe them? Well, they have the hard rock sound of Buck Cherry, (though the album isn't as thickly produced as Buck Cherry's stuff), the riffs of AcDc, the attitude of The Rolling Stones, and the energy of the Sex Pistols. What I loved most about this album though I think, is it wasn't over produced like a lot of music is nowadays. So it has a very raw sound to it.
The Tracks are as follows:
1. Under It All (I believe it was released as a single.)
2. Broken Bones (grinding to the guitars, pleasant on the ears)
3. What's It To You (The most bluesy number on the album)
4. American Shame (Tragically beautiful)
5. Down In the Valley (My personal favorite)
6. Rather Be Rich (Kind of reminds me of AcDc)
7. Skin Up (pure rock sweat)
8. Somethin' Right (this is why I started to love rock in the first place)
9. Sex Teen (My second favorite)
10. Lesson in Cool (Ramones meets Cinderella, my third fav)
11. Auburn (working it's way up to be one of my favorites)
12. Doghouse (the begining was the match being lit, the end is the house burning down)
