I picked this up when i started playing bass because it feels so nice to play and now i can play i'm customising it up to be a real beast. I tried others like the squiers and epiphones but this was so balanced and comfortable. I love the shape, it's great just to carry about, and i can really get going on it. I definately would keep this to the end, it's got that old friend feel to it now. In a way all the dodgy fixtures are bad but on the bright side it does prompt you to tart your bass up with new pickups and knobs, esp since the action is easy to adjust. With a few of your own adjustments this is worth way more than you paid for.

Really simple design, 20 frets, 2 passive jazz pickups, a volume for each pickup and a tone knob and the 4 strings. The body is really nice, it's fairly light without being delicate. It has a similar shape to a fender jazz but accentuated a little. This is annoying because i had to buy a longer strap to be comfortable. It has a nice black finish with white scratch plate. The head stock is really nice and streamlined. The body is nicely balanced so it's really comfrotable to play.
The action was low when i got it, but i lowered it even more as it's really easy to do on this bass. The neck is similar to a fender jazz as it's nice and slim. This makes it really nice to move around quickly if that's your style. There is a bit of fret noise here and there but i just started fretting more accurately.
I have a little practice amp at home which doesn't do it much justice, but on better quality amps it sounds really nice. With both volumes up and tone down a bit you get a really nice warm sound, but with the bridge volume only and lots of tone you can get a hell of a treble drenched sound although only having the one volume up can cause it to sound a little weak. It works really well live, very durable, but the sound doesn't always carry with the one pickup. I use a 105Q-crybaby which works so well with the treble sound.
It's really sturdy on stage. I've done manic picking and fingering, aswell as some slap and it's carried on oblivious. It doesn't need adjusting much, the only time it did was when i tuned it to open-E which was understandable. Only the G-string goes out of tune if the temperature changes. The fixtures do have a habit of wandering like the strap locks come loose but a good screw driver can fix that, the tone control is a bit fuzzy and the jack came loose but i put longer screws in and it hasn't budged. Some screws also are a bit dodgy.
I looked at basic presicions and thats about it and I chose this one.I think I would buy another one if it were stolen or lost.it could of been better if it had more tonal range but hey you can't have everything!Overall it is a graet bass for begginers and you should give it a look of your buying one in this price range.

It Doesn't Have many features really exept for the basic tone and volume but still there ok so I'll have to give it a...
It has a very smooth neck and a nice action it kinda plays like a basic presicon bass but not identically.
I use a peavey amp and i play a lot of jazz and blues and some punk/indie and it fits with all of those really well.It has a mix between a full and dark tone it's really in the middle witch makes it have a unique sound.
I've had it for 2 years and nothings has gone wrong so all in all it is very good.
Nice bass and for the price very good value. I got this bass as my first in easter of 2004, and its been fine so far. The Neck is fast and the bass is nicely balanced, an excellent starter bass. I intend to replace it soon, but i most definately am keeping it as i believe it will Keep in good condition for a long while. The 2 year (extendable to 5 for free) warranty is the icing on the cake, in my opinion.

I would choose this over pretty much any other starter bass. But, I think it could be a little better.

This is a great, rock, starter bass. It is a little heavy, especially for kids in middle school, but I think it is a quality instrument. I had a little trouble with the output though. It keeps coming loose. I've had it repaired but it still does it, so I put duct tape on it and it stays put.
I wish the neck was longer, but that's me. The cutouts make it easy to reach the upper frets. I like the fingerboard because it plays pretty fast. For a stareter bass it is superior to the rest of what's out there.
The sound on this bass is pretty average. It's well suited for rock. Effects are fun to use on this bass, the double tone knobs help.
The hardware can come pretty loose pretty often, but as long as you have a screwdriver handy you should be fine. It can go out of tune if you play too hard.
If this bass died I dont think that I would buy another Peavey budget bass, now that I have obtained a Squier p bass, which is better made, and a fraction of the price of a Fender or up market Peavey.

A long horn jazz bass made in china, alledgedly will yankee parts.
Sunburst finish, maple neck bolted onto a laminated (ply) body with twin un named jazz pickups.
The neck is slimline with a decent rosewood on the fingerboard.
The action was high out of the box, but was soon sorted.
Some sharp fret ends needed dressing.
some gripes are the various screws keep coming loose at times, nearly crashed it once when the strap button parted company.
Pickups move a bit as before loose screws.
?It's got a nice sound, the neck pickup is lovely, but the bridge pickup a bit twangy for my taste.
Using both pickups together cancels out hum a bit like a humbucker, but there the simalarity ends.
Durability:

I think this bass would self destruct over a period of time.
but it's useful enough for home use I suppose.
I certainly a pretty bass to look at though.
This is a pretty good bass for two or three year bass players who want a good bass for a low price but it could be better if it had more electronics, tone, bass, and treble are all right but a volume control would be nice.

Every night I leave my bass in the van and every morning I play bass in jazz lab. I have dropped it once during a rehersal and it still works fine. So you tell me if the durability is good or not.
A cheap guitar with an amp thrown in. Ideal for beginners or people who just want to jam.

Not a bad deal as it included a 75watt practice amp in the price.
Strings need setting (rattle on last fret and loads of buzz)
A really good bass, and a really amazing bass for the price. if your a begginner, you cant steer wrong with this.

Really comfortable body, and the extending top bit on the body is really good because it keeps it balanced when you stand up. double pick-up volume control is quite good, but you get a different sound if you turn one up but leave the other one down. theres a simple tone control aswell. nothing really special, but good enough.
The neck seems really long for only 20 frets, especially compared to ibanezes. the one flaw is that for finger style, if you want to rest your thumb on the pick-up, like me, its hard, because there isnt very much of the pickup sticking out, you get used to it though
For the price, i cant complain. it doesnt sound a lot different to a P-Bass, especially with new strings on, and my amp isnt the best of amps.
So far i havent had to adjust anything, i havent had it long enough, but i did get a small chip of paint work come off on the bottom.
When I bought this bass, I'd also looked at a fender squier which was a) WAY more expensive and b)didn't sound half as good. After looking at a couple of other makes I decided to go for a peavey, I got the milestone III as opposed to the IV because I prefer J-style pickups. Mine is metallic bronze(on the website it's called garnet red), with a white 3-layer pickguard. This bass looks fantastic, feels fantastic and sounds absolutely amazing!

Made in Vietnam. Maple neck with a beautiful rosewood fretboard. 21 frets, 4 strings. Two volume controls and one tone, unfortunately not labeled in any way. 2 single coil J-style pickups. The bridge is stamped steel and the body is fairly light.
The playability on this bass is amazing! The string spacing is perfect and the finish on the neck means you can play REALLY fast!
The way I play this bass is with a really smooth sound, which it is perfect for. But you can get a variety of sounds to suit your style. You have to play with both the pickups on or it'll hum like there's no tomorrow.
It is really durable, because it's designed for beginners it can take a bit of punishment which is always good.
I had been playing guitar for about a year when I decided to switch to bass. I spent a while looking and narrowed it down to the Squire(crap) the Ibanez(crap) and finally the Peavey(gold!) I chose the Milestone III because I like j-pickups better than p-pickups (in the milestoneIV). my milestone is white but is now covered in a varity of stikers. This bass out-shines a $500 fender anyday. It feels great and sounds great.

It has two passive J-style single coils, two volumes and a tone knob. The bridge is top-load, stamped steel(I prefer string-trough body). the tuners are okay. it has very nice light weight body and an fast neck.
The playability is as close to perfect as can be achived. The satin finished neck is lighning fast and the string spacing is nice too.
The best way to describe the sound of this bass is "growley" it has a deep growl or it can be super smooth. always play with both pickups on though or the one pickup that's on wil hum like crazy.
No complaints, being a beginer oriented bass it's built a little tougher than most.
