Perhaps one of the finest, "Rock Voices" to come along in some time - quite similar to the late James Dewar (Bassist/Vocalist for Robin Trower) combined with Chris Cornell (Soundgarden) and a small flavoring of David Clayton-Thomas (early BS&T). This album is a nice piece of work, very tight and very clean. The mix is a bit guitar heavy in my opinion. Tasty bass work from Allen Woody (RIP). It's one of those albums that gets better with repeated listenings.

All I can say is---"Thank God for the Mule". This album, their second, is a masterpiece in the power trio format. I tell everyone that I talk to...But any Mule album. Warren Haynes is a modern master of the guitar, be it slide or otherwise, and Allen Woody (RIP) is the reason that I started playing the bass. One word sums this record (and group) up--INCREDIBLE!

Gov't Mule reshaped blues and rock in the late 90's with thier punchy bass riffs and screaming guitars. With a sound that is as beefy and punchy as Gov't Mule, you cant go wrong. With great songs such as "Blind Man in the Dark", "Thorazine Shuffle", "she said, she said", "Game Face", and "Larger than Life", you get a great album that you can listen to with out skipping a song. Warren Haynes shreads on the guitar while Allen Woddy beats the living crud out of his bass! Over all this is a great album and a great band, EVEN Live they rock. Rest In Peace Allen Woddy We will all miss your insperation and love for the music.
