This is a superb bass player with a complete control of the music that is going on around him. He composed most of the stuff in here, and he sounds comfortable as hell with his music. His playing is as melodious and lyrical as the best you will ever hear. Definitely check this one out.

This is one of my all time favorites and, as mentioned, it changed the way I play bass. Drums and guitar are both great, and Stanley is at his hardrock best. This alboum also set the bar for bass tone when released. By the way, Stanley is a nice guy, I've talked with him a couple of times.

School Days is a need-to-have article. This album has contributed to average bassist's opinion about a groovy bass line. Stanley Clarke himself "outdated" the album by releasing various live tracks which, in my humble opinion, sound much better. I can honestly recommend listening to the Clarke albums "I want to play for you" and Live 1974-1975. Talking about really kicking butt: listen to "Live at the Greek". Summary: it's old, but a -must have- music collection item!
