A return to the punk roots for the Offspring following fears that they would turn pop (Americoughcana) with admittedly diappointing sales. The album is great, with some of the fastest tracks they've done, eg meaning of life, alongside slower, more seminal pieces like Amazed and Change the World. And then there's Gone Away, the one smash radio hit off the album, which is warranted by its unusually haunting vocals. This album has a darker stain to it than its two predecessors, ignition and Smash, and while Greg's bass may not be the most groundbreaking he's done, the singing is - in some songs - Dexter's best work.
