This amp by itself sucks, but with an external 2x10 cab this amp sounds really good(and loud). So if you plan on getting one of these, also plan on dropping about $250 on an Avatar B210.

I use a Soundgear SR895(basically an active five string Jazz Bass). I run it clean through the amp. I bought this amp because I needed an amp and the opportunity to get this one on the cheap came up. I hated this amp when I first got it due to the fact I couldn't get a good tone out of it that I liked(it sounded "farty" no matter how much i tweaked the EQ) and my bass would make the DDT speaker protection go in the red far too much. That all changed last night though, when I got home from work and right before my band's next show my Avatar B210 was sitting in the living room. With the B210 my piece of crap "fart box" was suddenly turned into an amp that actually sounded good and overpowered the guitarist's amp. Everyone was complimenting me on how punchy my amp sounded. Anyway, if you plan on getting one of these also plan on getting a 2x10 cab to make this beast sound better. Also, this thing has a tendency to distort if you crank it past about 6 on the master(unless, of course, you get an external cab).
All I have to say is scoop the mids on the Eq.
It's a Peavey. Everyone knows that means it's a tank. It was made to be dropped, kicked around, and generally abused.
Let's see....
sounds mediocre, weighs a ton, has features you can't bypass without a blowtorch...
I believe every bassist should have one. Call it the DMV syndrome.
If this amp were stolen, I know the thief would spend the rest of their life trying to find me.
It can hold a firedoor open, it can take up space anywhere. You can find one in any pawnshop.
If you love yours, more power to ya.

Hi/lo gain inputs
pre/post gain (volume'n'master volume) w/ bright switch
low eq + high eq and 7 band graphic eq (no bypass)
effect loop + preamp out/poweramp in...on front of amp.
headphone output. on/off switch
output (plugged into combo speaker), polarity switch
80 ungodly watts of Solid State "my first bass amp" goodness
Sounds like an 80s PV amp...
ready to die at a moment's notice.
Loud and utilitarian.
Plenty of low end through a single 15"
Speaker can clip unpleasantly at higher volumes.
Not much to it, though you cannot bypass the EQ.
Always sounds "EQ'd"...like an old CRATE amp.
Easy to find a sound and keep it.
...hope you like that sound, it's gonna be there for a looong time.
This thing will come back to haunt you.
This particular amp was tagged by another band, then pawned.
Taking this on the road, it feels like the grrl from the trailer park...everyone's played through it at some point.
It's picked up a most excellent habit of cutting out from time to time. No amount of servicing has explained it.
I guess I haven't mentioned that this weighs a f---ing ton...over 85lbs...until I took the wheels off of it.
so much for an 80 watt, 1x15" combo.
This amp is very good the only thing i dont like its that its very heavy, but thats the only bad thing.

It has an equalizer you can get lots of tones, it has DDT that protects your amp from burning, 15" speaker 75-watts.
When i turn up the volume it sounds great, the sound is very good, the other amp i had it sounded awful, this amp sounds very good.
With its equilizer you can get lotes of tones.. but it is a little hard to get the sound that you want at the begining.
This is that peavey is best at this amps are very durable.
I looked at a twelve inch amp sort of like this one, but it didn't have as full a sound. Also, when I saw this one, a 15 inch, was cheaper because it's used I decided on it. A gain knob would be the only thing I'd add. I like distortion for some of the stuff I play
Price: $275.00
First of all, it's really big. My friends and I call it as "The Moose". There are lots of EQ options. there is a 7-band EQ and 2 shelving knobs, low and high.
Very Big, Full sound. At about a third of the volume level you can feel it. There's no distortion at all, Even when I use the high gain input and have the pregain all the way up.
Very easy to use, only fiddling required is in the EQ, which can be expected
It's hard to tell, I've only had it 2 weeks. It looks new though, even though it's used
A nice amp. Great for performances located indoors. 75 watts of power and plenty of room for add-ons and expansion.

A good amp. Excellenct sound and options.
Good sound. Definately bound to rattle some windows.
I have no trouble understanding the controls. They could have added more settings for the equilizer.
Solid as a rock. Even though it weighs the same.
