I think this Peavey 412 cab is the best I have ever owned, and I would definately buy one again if it was lost or stolen.
The weight, and size is not as convenient as I would like it to be, but I think its sound makes it worth the extra effort that's needed to haul it around.
It is one awesome sounding, powerful speaker cab.
I use two of these cabs, powered by a 1200 watt rack amplifier, and it is capable of providing all of the bass sound that is needed, without the support of a PA system.
Model Year: 1998
Price: $600.00 (new)
Where Obtained: local music store
This cab has 4 12' Kevlar reinforced Sheffield speakers and a phenolic dome horn tweeter with level control and a protection circuit.
It is rated at 600 watts handling at 4 ohms, which is how I use it in my bass rig.
It is a front vented enclosure, that is optimized for deep bass sound.
The sound of this 412 cab delivers all of the thunder a bassist could dream of,and the frequency response is from 30Hz-15kHz.
It is a full range cab with great tone that would be great for any bass style.
This is a heavy cab,(127 Ibs.)or(57.7 kg), but it's easy to roll around once it's on the ground.
It doesn't fit easily into the backseat of a car, so a van, suv, or pickup truck is needed for easy transport.
I haul two of these cabs, and the other equipment I need, in my Chevy S-10 Blazer SUV, with ease.
Speaker cabinet size is:
H 35" x W 28.50" x D 19.25"
(88.9 cm x 72.4 cm x 48.9 cm)
This cab is very solidly built with 3/4" plywood, and covered with black Ozite carpet, that is very dense, tough, and very resistant to scratching and tearing.
It has metal corners, a heavy gauge metal grille, and recessed carrying handles.
This speaker cabinet is built like a tank, and it will take road punishment for many years.
