I looked at Ampeg SVT Pros, Peaveys, SWR's,& Gallien-Krueger. I researched 3 years before deciding on the Hartke and yes, I would buy it again. I would like to see a power amp in and preamp in jacks, just in case you would ever want to add more power or a different preamp section. It does have a Preamp out, which I usually run the the PA. Beside the minor lack of control on the compressor, I LOVE this thing, and would recommend you try this out when looking for a Pro level rig.

The Hartke 7000 is a very versatile amp. It has excellent tone shaping abilities with a 10-band EQ and master contour controls for low and high frequencies.
It has both tube and solid state pre-amps, which can be blended. Two seperate 350 watt power amps supply all the oomph you will need to play anywhere. You can run the 7000 full range or bi-amped, as it comes with a built in crossover. A compressor rounds out the package, along with a dedicated effects loop. It also has a XLR preamp out.
I currenty run Music Man Stingray 4 and 5 strings, along with a Peavey G5. I use a Peavey TVX210 and Hartke's excellent 4200 410 cab. I play a variety of music styles, but predominantly rock and blues. The wide range of tones you can get from the 7000 make it useful for any style of music. It is a very clean amp, and some metal heads may want to use a distortion pedal as I can get very little overdrive out of it even with the tube preamp cranked up. I can get a very ballsy growl with the G5.
I run a Samson S-Com compressor for more control over my compressed sounds, and I also run a Peavey Kosmos for some real low-down, sub-harmonic action. This amp has all the power and tone of the Ampegs and Peavey amps I've used, and blows the Fenders away. I am very pleased with it.
The 7000 is very easy to operate. Play with it, find what works for you, crank it, and rock. I basically set everything fairly flat and make adjustments as needed with the actives on my Basses.
Built like a Tank. I have only had it for about a year, but have had no problems.
