When I entered Uni to study music, I knew I had to buy a professional bass. I believe that with the Yamaha TRB I did the best choise I could. Very happy with it, definitely recommend it to everyone!
Price: $1550.00 euros (new)
Features:
Japan made, 24 frets, active pickups with 5 controll knobs (volume, pick up selector bass/middle/treble cut/gain), beautiful natural finish and a very sexy figure!
Playability:
The action is really low so it makes that baby really smooth to play! I had some problems with the 1st fret of the B sring buzzing, but since I set up the neck correctly its been ok.
Sound Quality:
The active pick up offer a very good range of tones. From almost subsonic bassy (when playing on the B string) to really trebly for some fast solo playing. Used with a chorus pedal it sounds amazing!
Durability:
Prrrrrrfect!

I'd say go play this thing. After listing to the sales people at GC try to push more expensive basses on me, I finally went with this bass. 4 months later I went back to GC to test out some amps, and all the sales people were like 'that bass rules, nice choice'....he, go figure?
Price: $1200.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Guitar Center
Features:
Active pickups sound great
Playability:
Well, after ignoring the losers working at Guitar Center pushing Warwicks on me like they were pushing crack to the local school kids, I finally grabbed this bass off of the wall and let loose. I play mostly funk but also jazz, and this thing is awesome.
Sound Quality:
Such a diverse range of sounds, A+++.
Durability:
Well, haven't dropped it yet, but looks good so far. No problems
