If this bass was stolen.... id be a p--s-d off big time, This bass was a huge part of my journey for the past 4 years.. weve had some awsome rocking times... and some lonelly dark times! but we both came out together!! she's a reliable chunk of wood thats for sure :) my next purchase could be a yamaha.. gd stuff :D
Where Obtained: A Friend 2004
Features:
Ive had this bass for over 4 years now... thought id atleast say sumthing nice about her.. Brilliant bass guitar for value.. only faults are the cheap goldie looking pot knobs (ive took mine off).. The bridge has decomposed over time.. but thats prob my sweaty fault.. The J and P style passive pick ups arent fabulous.... but they certainly do the job. all in all... everything's easily replacable and im not complaining cause she's been heavy duty for sure!
Playability:
24 fret's... slim long neck... plays itself... so comfortable to play... so light.. so manouverable.. in my opinion feels like ur holding a guitar more than a bass. im no technical talking guitar tech.. but string spacing and fret spacing is spot on too.. nothing uncomfortable about this bass.
Sound Quality:
Suprisingly... this bass delivers on all techniques.. slapping .. (its great for funk) though the p style pick up does cause a little obstruction.. otherwise it plays all my diff genre's fantastic. Im satisfied with the sound of it when i play back old gig recordings... i got a good tin-ie growl on the low's ... perfect for the sound in my previous band.
Durability:
Think my friend got it in 2000.. i got it in 2004. so 9 year old maybee.. ive never had to adjust anything.. exept intonation now and again.. but had not one problem with it apart from parts rusting away.. but u expect that. the neck still feels as smooth as ever and when i take her off the wall i still struggle to put her away :)

I looked at a lot of other basses, mostly all cheaper ones due to budget constraints. It was thew best value for money and the striking finish was in the end what sold me on it.
Price: $350.00 au (new)
Where Obtained: Private Sale
Features:
Has passive electronics. (may change one day) Striking maple finish with gold hardware 1 Precision and 1 Jazz stlye configuration pickups
Playability:
This particular bass needs a small amount of work, a setup mainly and the bridge is a little flimsy(will replace one day). But value for money is excellent, it s sounds clean and feels comfortable.
Sound Quality:
I have a Trace Elliot amp (no effects). I play whatever takes my fancy, old & new (Blue Oyster Cult, Tubes, Steely Dan, Tonic, Collective Soul etc.) Has a nice warm sound. It compares very well with other basses I have had (early Yamaha's, Ibanez, Vantage and an Australian made Noyce) the only definate mod will be a more sturdy bridge and maybe some active pickups if I can afford them.
Durability:
Seeems to be a durable bass, I will probably not be playing any serious amount of gigs any more (I mostly play for my own enjoyment nowadays)

A very good bass for the money. Definetly one of the best in the sub-$400 category.
Price: $380.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Marshall Music
Features:
OK, before I start this bass does NOT have active EMG pickups. I do not know where the other reviewer got that information. This is a good quality bass with a passive P/J configuration. It comes in 2 colors, flamed blue or flamed red. For the money, it is a great buy and an excellent choice for someone starting out or mid-level that is looking for a quality instrument for less money.
Playability:
I had the action adjusted a few times, and after a few times I must say that the playability of this thing is excellent. Something about the neck makes is very easy to get around on quickly.
Sound Quality:
I use this with my Ampeg 1x15 + 2x10 + horn 350 watt rig and my only complaint is that the pickups are pretty cheap quality.
Durability:
I have to have it 'tuned up' and checked on every so often, but overall it does a good job in this department for the money.
