Overall, it is hard to pass on this bass for its price and features. It trully is value for money, in terms of tone and features. Don't expect this bass to sound like a SR5. It will not do that. It is a good bass on its own and that is how it needs to be seen.
Price: $320.00 AUD
Where Obtained: Ebay
Features:
This bass is a MM5 copy. Transparent black in colour with a white oval pickguard. The body is made of Alder? The neck is a bolt on with 21 fret fretboard is made of maple. It is a 5 string with a MM style humbucker right on the sweet spot. The pickup is active with 3 band eq. The hardware is all solid. The tuners are a little on the cheap side. And some screws on the pick guard were drilled in slanted.
Playability:
This bass is easy to play for a five string. It takes a bit of playing around to get the setup right, and when you do. She plays really well.
Sound Quality:
I play this bass through an Eden NC210 and a 100WJade hurricane. The bass was tested using these strings, EB Slinkys, GHS Bass Boomers and DR Hi Beams. The Bass sounds awesome. it sounds like a heavy P bass when plucked before the pickup and a growly stingray when plucked at the bridge. The neck and body wood give out a naturally bright sound which is great for slapping. The three band eq allows for great tone shaping, but it would have been better if they also included a blend knob, so you can choose whcih part of the pickup to use. Only thing I don't like is, the bass has a growl that cannot be dialed out. It will command some playing finness to get this under control. Its a good growl, but it is not for all occasions.
Durability:
The finnish on the bass is thin and will scratch easily. So keep it away from things that scratch like keys etc. The hardware is pretty good in this bass. its all solid. The tuners, will need replacement after a while. It has a rubber bit on it that wears out. It will survive touring if kept in a case.

I chose to buy this bass, because: a.) I have a budget b.) It sounds really cool. The only thing that would be better is if it had 5 strings. Otherwise, it is a very good bass.
Price: $190.00 Canadian
Where Obtained: B Sharp Music
Features:
It was made in Korea. It is pretty good for the price I payed for it. It has one humbucker pickup. 4 strings. The usual.
Playability:
It is very playable.
Sound Quality:
The sound is very dark. It sound very good compared to most other basses in this price range.
Durability:
It's pretty durable. I've dropped it on my cement basement floor many a times, and it dosn't have any scratches or anything.
