I've owned Fenders, Ibanez's, I Currently own a Warwick, and a Vintage BC Rich, along with the Palaedium. I took it to band practice the day after i bought it, and let me tell you Its bass #1.
If I had tosell any of my basses it would be the last to go. It is very unique because Peavey didn't make that many of them.
The neck has to be the thinnest ever produced, and with thlaminated finish, over the whole thing, it looks like an expensive bass, and it just looks and plays beautifully!!!
Price: $240.00
Where Obtained: Music shop on Ebay
This is a Peavey Bass that was put together with the help of famed Bass Player Jeff Berlin. So it's basically a signature model thats doesn't have the signature. Made in the USA also.
It has a 3 peice alder body, a laminated maple neck, graphite reinforced peghead, thin profile front to back, 17"radius fingerboard, 34" scale, genuine pearl inlays, bad a-- II bridge, 2 quad coil design humbucking pick ups, gold hardware, one volumn knob, a tone knob, and a blend knob.
It has the thinnest neck I've ever seen, It's thinner then any Ibanez, it was thinner then my guitarplayers Ibanez guitar RG470.
The bridge is awesome, and it allows for easy changing of string height.
The neck is unbelievably thin!Very easy especially for those with small hands.
This bass when new, came out as an upper level Peavey, and sold for $700-$800 brand new. I got mine so cheap, because I'm not sure the small music shop knew what they had. I love this bass, I like it more then my $600 Warwick, and My Fender Jazz, which I sold recently.
It's also very light, and easy on your shoulders.
I used the Palaedium with my Trace Elliot SMX GP12 280watt preamp, which powered a crate 4x10, and a berringer 1x15.
It sounded incredible. A very fat sound. A very deep, smooth sound, which I also could dial in to get the more treble sound needed for some styles of rock and punk. It sounded good for all types of music I dable with. It does not work well for slapping because the neck pickup is very close to it.
To me this bass sounds better then any Fender I've played, its just an incredible sound for any bass.
The neck was straight as an arrow. The only thing I hate is that the gold hardware started pitting in some areas, mainly the tuners, and little portions on the knobs and bridge. I also had to shave the Estring groove on the Nut because on heavy bends, it popped out. I also had to replace some of the saddle screws that stripped out due to oxidation.
