I owned a BXR 100 a while ago, I realy liked it, the things that were lacking on that like handles on the side, built in compression ect. were fixed with this model.

Built in compressor, Built in chorus, 9 band eq, low, mid and high end enhancement buttons. 2 inputs one for passive and one for active. Effects loop.
Almost any you could ask for, Blues, metal, funk all sounds good. Very clean and quiet.
When I purchased it the only work known to have been done to it was an imput was replaced.
- I looked at a Hartke 4000 Head and decided the the combo really works for me.
- I would buy this amp again if it were lost or stolen.
- This amp could be better if Fender supplied a jacket for it.
- I love the SIMPLICITY and TONE.
- At 72lbs, it's lucky I still have a strong back. There's not much you can do if you want a 15" speaker. Even a head and bin is going to weigh at least this much.

Totally Solid State Combo amp with a nine slot graphic EQ after the shelving pots. Also has a foot switchable Chorus and proprietry compressor to protect the speaker when playing LOUD. Around the back we have an effects loop and 2 line outs one standard jack and an XLR. I don't use the line outs much 'cause they're too noisy. Mostly use it in church every second week, so volume is NOT an issue. The amp is only idling when I'm playing.
I've got two Bass Guitars that I plug into it (both Yamaha),RBX250F and a RBX460, using an A/B switch into a Digitech BP50, then DI to the PA and amp. I've only turned this amp up loud a coiple of times and almost blown everyone else off stage. Becuse I play in church, all that's really needed is a solid bottom end to drive the rythmn section with a nice compressed rounded tone. The BP50 gives me the compression and the amp just put it out there so easily. The Fender 15" is clean and deep.
This is a no nonsense honest amp, no fiddling required. Every time I play, even though I heave it into the back of my car, settings stay the same and just plug it in power up. Too easy compared to a Peavey twin that I had once.
It's built tough enough for my use. I put 4" rubber trolley wheels on the back and it just trundles along behind me. In the three years I've had it, I've never had to fix anything.
This amp was bought for me...I got no choices, but I'm happy with it. Yes, I would buy another one if it's stolen, if I have the money. Would be good if the electric cord is detachable because it gets annoying when you have to move the amp around.

OK.. for the features, as already stated:
-9-band EQ (bit tricky but useful)
-Deep, notch, and bright sound enhancement switches (I always turn all 3 on all the time)
-High, mid & low enhancer switches (very useful)
-Effects loop/ built in chorus (I don't use this much)
-Solid state electronics
I play jazz/R&B/fingerstyle funk style and sometimes alternative rock. I use this amp with 3 axes so far, a Precision copy, a P/J Precision Lyte and a Mexi Jazz V. All is good.
This amp really kicks (b)ass!! Plenty of low end, full mids, punchy highs and nice slap sound especially on new strings ^^ I have no complaints so far. This is my second 'gigging' amp, I used a Crate 100 before and this thing sounds much better. It's good for gigs up to 500 people. I normally play for a 100+ crowd and never had to turn up the volume more than 3 (out of 10). When I play for a bigger crowd the volume knob doesn't go past 5. Amp can be a little noisy when cranked up but it's still tolerable.
At first it's hard to get the right sound out of the EQ, but once you know how to set it up, it's all foolproof. No problems once you get the hang of the EQ thing. I would reccomend this to a beginner player who wants something bigger and better than a practice amp.
One thing though, this amp is VERY heavy, especially if you're a 110 lbs 5'4" person. Breaks my back just trying to lug this thing around.
Solid construction, indestructible. I played almost every week and this amp has never failed me the last 3 years.
The buttons and knobs are another thing, though. They knock off pretty easily because of their placement. Due to rough handling and transport, I have lost one of the EQ pushers and my gain knob is completely gone. Now I can't turn the gain up and down, it always stays at around 3 and it annoys me to death. This is why I'm giving it the score 4 out of 5.
I looked at them all....Fender Bassman's, tube amps, Ampeg,Crate,Marshall,Peavey... but for the money, this amp was what I was looking for. I really like the way I can turn up the volume and not fear distortion or clipping. There really isn't a bad aspect. Maybe the weight (75lbs)., BUT big amps have BIG weight.

My Fender BXR200 combo has enhancement switches for low-end and high-end tones. It also has separate bass and treble gains as well as a 7 band equalizer. DELTACOMP circuitry prevents clipping and distortion when playing loudly. It has a footswitch for chorus output along with in/out loop connections in the rear. It very powerful and VERY LOUD. It is all solid state.
I have a Fender-made P-Bass, playing mostly blues/funk. Tube amps have a better quality for the most part, but can be a bit pricey. The sounds from this BXR are clean with no distortion.
It takes a little time to play with all of the gadgets to get the sound you are looking for.
This is arguably the most durable amp made.
I had 500 dollars saved for buying an amp. I walked into the store. All kinds of amps were standing on the floor, while this one was pushed all the way back, near the wall. The only reason for this was that it would shadow all ot the other, "lesser" amps. Its huge, it has a huge sound. The only problem I have is moving it around. I'm a big guy and still I get really tired when I have to carry it up the stairs. The only way to improve it is to put some kind of cover on the EQ knobs. Also, a place for the power cord would be nice. Right now the only place to hide it during transport is on the grill in the back, which can get very hot after playing. Still, it's a great combo, especially for people playing in pubs, bars and 100-500 people gigs.

As mentioned in other reviews, it has a nice graphic equalizer that lets you dial in most of the tones you would like. The enchantments (deep, notch, bright) allow for even more customizing. The amp is very powerful. At home I never dial the volume over 1-1.5 on a 10 point scale. On gigs with about 100 people it hardly needed to go over 3. Never went over 5 :-).
I used a couple of basses with this amp. It works excellent with Fender basses (especially with my P-bass) but there is a small problem with it: the high tones are not the strongest part of this amp. If your bass is not active and it doesnt have much of a bright sound, the the treble achived from this amp will not be really that good.
I use this amp mainly for heavy rock/alternative and it is very well suited for this kind of music. Its also fine for playing funk, but due to the low treble it's not excellent. This amp is horribly loud!
The BXR 200 is very easy to use, compared to other amps. Finding the right tones is not a problem at all.
This thing is like a small tank. I was taking it to a gig in my car once, and on one of the turns it hit the door, making a big dent in them. Needless to say, the amp did not take any damage. I never had to repair it.
There is one problem, though. The EQ knobs are small, and they stick out. The are not covered with anything, so its very easy to break them off during transport. Whenever I need to move it around in a car, I try to stick some foam over them to secure them. Thats why I cant give it a rating of five.
FENDER HAS BEEN THE INDUSTRY LEADER AND INNOVATOR FOR YEARS AND HAS ALWAYS DELIVERED A QUALITY PRODUCT THE OTHER AMPS OUT THERE ARE NICE THE GALIEN-KRUEGERS,HARTKE AND THE YAMAHA'S BUT I JUST LIKE STICKING WITH WHAT IN MY MY WOULD BE CONSIDERED THE MUSIC AUTHORITY INSTRUMENTALLY SPEAKING....GO GET YOU ONE AND PLAY THROUGH IT....JD

Bxr comes with effects switch
pedal control switch.
eq,bass bright and notch buttons to control the sound
The bxr has clean highs warm punchy lows and the mid range is nice I use this amp to play gospel music and it siuts me just fine. compared to hartke amps I think the fender has the quality of sound that I'm LOOKING FOR.
THE AMP IS NOT PROGRAMMABLE AND IT DOES TAKE SOME FIDDLING TO OBTAIN THE RIGHT SOUND BUT ONCE THEY ARE SET I MARK THEM AND GO TO WORK.
THE CONSTRUCTION IS QUITE DURABLE IT FEATURES A CLOSED REAR AND HEADY DUTY WOOD CABINET ALL AROUND. THE THING I LIKE MOST IS THAT THE AMP FEELS LIKE AN AMP AND NOT SOME 10 WATT 2 OHM PLAY AT HOME PRACTICE AMP. OH I FORGOT THIS TOO THE FEET SCREW OFF WHICH ALLOWS YOU TO SCREW ON SOME 2 INCH CASTER WHEELS FOR PORTABILITY.
The amp is very cool for a free lancer who does only small to medium shows. Check it out, though Fender doesnt seem to be making it anymore. Maybe I'm wrong on this one... VERY COOL AMP.

The amp has four settings. Normal, Deep, Notch, and Bright. The last three can all be used in conjuction. the amp produces a very deep tone for R+B and the like, but can achieve almost any tone. this is possible with the two band shelving EQ, and th enine band parametric EQ. It has a built in Chorus, which is footswitchable. The amp is powerful enough to play most small to medium venues, and is powered by solid state electronics.
I use a Fender P-Bass through the amp, playing pretty much every style from jazz to Hip Hop, and the amp can easily attain any tone that I want for any of these styles. Depending on the setting, the amp can get noisy, but no more than any other comparable amp. At high volumes, the 15" speaker retains its clarity with just a wee bit of distortion.
The amp is very easy to use, and changes tones with a minimum of tweaking. The controls are virtually self-explanatory.
The amp is very heavy duty. I can barely carry the mofo. It has not had to be repaired as of yet, and responds well to lengthy playing situations.
I looked at yorkville, and it gave me a dean markley feeling . I have heard so many people talk up fender and they've been around a long time,I would buy this amp again. My favourite aspect of this amp is its ability to pound the sound out there.Worst part would be its size,it's a three peice stack and for a woman to pack around ,it's a little on the heavy and awkward side, but I like it so much I don't care about that so much! It's also a smart looking stack.By the way it was on sale @ 999.99,regular 1699.99 canadian.Pricy enough compared to the stated prices I bet! That's my review of the Fender BXR 200 watt amp.

Built in e.q.,push in switches to select bright, deep, soft or edgy tones, built in bass chorus, comes w/ switch.Has effects loop.Good ground shaking power.solid state electronics.
I use an Aria pro 2 bass and use the built in chorus sometimes, like using a fuzz box but is not good with all sings, generally, with the settings on the amp you can get a really throaty deep bass sound for those heavier tunes or a nice lighter sound for easier listening type music. The sound is bette r than the dean markley amp I had before the fender.Seems to have a tendancy to hiss when I turn my guitar volume down and leave the gain on the amp up but that could be something else such as not having heavy enough power cord, because I don't have the amp plugged directly into an outlet,I have to run through an extension cord in our practice room.Very clean at high volumes and man, does it thump inyour chest!I love it!
Not programmable,a litlle fiddling is all that's required to get a pretty nice sound.Very straight forward to use.It also has apush in switch that allows you to draw on some more power if you need it 'cause your pushing out alot of groove.
Heavy duty construction, had it for 6 months and nothing wrong so far ,unlike the dean markley.I think it's vey reliable for steady live playing and does not have any trouble thumping in the chests of people way in the back.
I looked at Ampeg, GK, Hartke, & Peavey. This was the best sounding other than the Ampeg (which I passed up because I thought all they made at the time was tube amps - to high maintainance for me).
I would consider buying this amp again if it were lost or stolen.
I would recomend a gain volume for more control over the volume.
The best thing about this amp is I get a good sound without a hassle. The worst thing is I am either not heard, or I blow everyone away. Luckly I am in a band that doesn't mind a loud bass player

at 200 watts it is almost to powerful for the music i play.
solid state 1x15 200 watt combo
I play a Fender P-Bass Special usually straight into the amp. On occassion I use a stomp-box compressor.
I play mainly Country, Blues,& Classic Rock. The BXR fits rather well, & I believe it would be well suited for most styles without a lot of manipulation.
The sound is cleaner than other amps I have used in the past.
Not having a ground switch is is suprisingly quiet unless there is other activity within the same circuit
it starts to distort after about a volume of 2 1/2.
Non-programable
set the graphic where you like and use the shelving for fine tuning of the tone and away you go. not a whole lot of messing around to get a good sound.
it is pretty easy to use, but so have most amps I have used. Now I just set the amp up and leave the racks and pedalboard at home.
It is a very reliable for steady live playing.
just general maintainance, no heavy repairing.
heavy duty construction.
