This is one of the nicest post 80's Fender I've ever played, 'nuff said.
Model Year: 1983
Price: $850.00 CAN
Where Obtained: Not bought
Features:
Made in the good ol' US of A, this bass sports the same body wood that the other P-basses of that area (maple neck and alder body). Maple on maple neck, no binding at all. Again, this bass has the standard 20 fret neck, and the fret are the vintage ones (narrow and high).

Two Precision pickups, one in bridge position, the other in neck position. Active bass using a 9 volt preamp. Volume, Tone, Blend, (or was it volume, volume, Tone?) with toggle-switches to boost different frequencies (three total). Not the most versatile preamp ever built, but it does the job of shaping your sound before tweaking it on the amp.

Red two tone sunburst, micro-adjustements bridge, Precision body. Standard open tuners.
Playability:
Wide and pretty chunky, the neck is full and fun to play if you like the P-bass feel. It isn't a baseball bat, but it's near. Standard 34" scale. compared to many other P-bass, this on is stellar in quality and tone (way-low action and fast neck). Also holds well to slapping.
Sound Quality:
You can get the sharp sound of Entwistle, the full sound of a pre-CBS and the mwah tone to a certain extent. It's versatility would be greater if it was fitted with rotary boost/cut, but since it was produced 20 years ago, it's all good. Compared to nowadays Fenders, this bass beats them all, even the American series...
Durability:
It held up just fine (with a little scratches) to 20 years of gigging by the previous owned, so I guess it's a nice bass.
