Buy one for yourself, good price. I would buy another if this is lost or stolen. Better to mod the bridge (Bad A-- II recommended)
Model Year: 2005
Price: $590.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Musician Friends
Features:
I bought mine a year ago. Made in Mexico, vintage white, 20 frets, 3 bands active EQ. 2 Noiseless Pickups, Rosewood fretboard. The only thing I didn't give this great bass a 5* because of the bridge, it's a standard and I would change to something like the Leo Quan Bad A-- II.
Playability:
Great playability, neck is smooth and fast, very well done! a 5*, I change the string to GHS Boomers Flea signature serie (105 - 85 - 65 - 45).
Sound Quality:
Great sound! I play live direct to PA (for fast gig, studio), or through Ampeg B2RE Amp and Ampeg 4x10 in rehearsal room (the amp's not mine). I always use both pickups, the sound is full and bright, almost no noise compare to other basses. I think better use live.
Durability:
I only have this for over a year now, but I think this bass is gonna last 20-30 years or more if you take good care...

I would never part with this bass and would replace it if stolen or destroyed. I keep it in a hard shell form fitting fender case for safe keeping.

My Guitar was a Mexican Fender jazz deluxe. My guitar came with a brown sunburst paint job on a alder body. My bass came with two humbucker active jazz pickups one bridge one neck. The guitar had one volume pot one pickup pan pot a duel bass and trebal stacked pot and one mid pot. the bolt on neck was made of maple and walnut with a fretted rose wood finger board.
Playability:
This bass was the bass I was looking for it has a great action that allowes me too glide through notes as well as the neck is very fast and comfortable. The construction is flawless. This bass puts too shame my old samack
Sound Quality:
I play all different styles with this bass and I can acheive any sound with it. It can produce a deep warm fat jazz sound or a punchy metal sound it also produces a good slap bass sound with the proper strings I use Ghs bass Boomers. This bass sounds well at all volumes and is suitable for studio and gigs. I recommedend having a custom nut put on for 60$ for even better sound
Durability:
This bass is a beast it stays in tune very well sometimes up too three days. The trusrod has yet to need to be adjusted. Every thing else on this bass is well built and can take a beating. this bass gets optimum sound at room temprature so if its cold a little warm up before you start playing is a good idea.

I wish i wasn't so stupid then. i didn't even look at any other basses. This bass could have much better build quality, that might make it almost worth the money. What I want you to know- DON'T BUY IT!!!
Model Year: 2001
Price: $540.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Mars
Features:
Mexico made, American active pickups, black with the tortoise pickguard, basic bridge
Playability:
I like many other basses better, i didn't look then, i thought i only wanted a fender. FLAW- the G string bridge keeps sinking, i have to use a little wrench thing and raise it at least once a day
Sound Quality:
Ampeg SVT410HE cab, Ampeg B-2R head, dark growling sound. I say it isn't good enough for stage or studio.
Durability:
I am constantly raising the G string bridge which is a big hassle, it doesnt like cold weather

Bass was totaly stock and hardly played at all. It is now(ha ha). Overall this bass rocks. It is a mexican Jazz bass. Rosewood fretboard, black with white 3 ply pickguard. My jazz rocks with some thondurous lows and the neck is true and gets great sounds all around. Only complaint is I really don't care for separate volume controls as I always have them both all the way up.
Playability:
I play the strings really high. If set medium to low they hit the frets too much(finger style).I love this bass. Only flaw is the fret dots you see when you are playing are halfway between the rosewood and the neck.
Sound Quality:
Sounds perfect live. Really cuts through ,especially the lows.

THIS IS A MEXICAN BUILT FOUR STRING, 19 FRETS, PASSIVE PICKUPS,
Playability:
THIS IS A VERY PLAYABLE BASS.
Sound Quality:
I USE A CRATE 100BFX, AND IT SOUNDS GREAT. I MOSTLY PLAY CLASSIC ROCK, AND IT FITS THE BILL VERY WELL FOR THAT TYPE OF MUSIC. IT IS VERY VERSITILE, AND YOU CAN GET A CLEAN PUNCHY SOUND OUT OF IT OR YOU CAN MAKE IT GROWL. IT DOES BOTH EQUALLY WELL.
Durability:
IT HAS HELD UP VERY WILL FOR THE YEAR AND A HALF I HAVE HAD IT. I HAVE NOT NEEDED TO GET IT ADJUSTED IN ANY WAY, AND FREQUENTLY I CAN PICK IT UP AND IT WILL BE IN TUNE FROM ONE DAY TO THE NEXT.

This bass is actually my second Fender JAzz bass. My first was a Mexican standard, bet it got stolen. When I got the insurance check, I played several basses, including Ibanez 5&6 strings, Samick 5's and some others. This bass felt the best, which to me is the most important thing. I have to be comfortable with a bass. Second, the sound is incredible. The active pickups and 3-band EQ give you remarkable control. It also looks awesome. The Jazz Bass styling, the Black finish, the Tortoise shell pickguard, It looks Badass!!
Model Year: 2000
Price: $469.99 (new)
Where Obtained: Guitar Center
Features:
Made in Mexico. 20 frets 4 strings 2 deluxe active pickups Vol. knob, pickup selector/balance knob, 3-band EQ Black finish
Playability:
Excellent action. It has a thin neck that is very comfortable and easy to play. When I was purchasing this bass, i played several different basses (Samick, Ibanez, and Dean to name a few) and this had the most comfortable action.
Sound Quality:
I play this bass through a Fender Bassman 135 all-tube head with an accooustic 18-inch bass reflex system cabintet. I use the Digitech bp-8 for effects. I play this bass in a metal band, although we occassionally do a Blues Tune. I also play in the University of Akron Jazz Lab band (minus the effects and through a different amp) This bass fits in well in all styles. THe 3-band EQ makes it easy to adjust the sound. I usually go for a full warm sound. This bass gets less hum and noise than any other I've played, and when I go to my Jazz lesson, my teacher always turns down the amp, because my bass is much louder than his other students.
Durability:
I just bought this bass last November, but everything is holding up well so far. I play out once every week or two, and this bass can hold its own.
