I am and I have been a Nathan East fan. As you can see from my Homepage, 90% of my gears are NE Products. But I was somewhat disappointed with this Video. There's not doubt that he can play. I MEAN, HE CAN PLAY!!! But sadly the video quality has dragged his image a little beneath average. The video was poorly produced, poorly edited, poorly sequenced and he acted shy, so instructionally, it wasn't convincing more so, effective. But then again, this was produced 12 years ago (1991). He sounded like he was playing through a cheap amp. I still enjoyed it because I'm a fan. Oh I'm sure he has changed since. I wish he would redo this video and have it available in DVD.

This is a good resource for all bassist but particularly intermediate players wanting to branch out and increase there technique arsenal. Another good point is the instruction included on set-up, action and intonation adjustment. Nathan has a very trade mark fingerstyle, it is blisteringly fast without compromising groove- a very valuable lesson other speedsters seem to neglect. The only bad aspect would affect keen slappers, as nathan is a fairly mediocre thumbman. If you need slap, go elsewhere for instruction.
