MP3s: Submit an MP3

If you'd like to submit an MP3 to ActiveBass, please send us an e-mail with "MP3 Submission" in the subject line, and include the information below. Note that we require a bit more information than most sites, due to ActiveBass' focus on education.

DO NOT submit the actual MP3 file by e-mail.
Submit the URL to an MP3 file that is already posted on the Web.
• Only submissions that contain URLs to MP3 files will be considered.
• Only submissions that contain at least several instructional paragraphs will be considered.
• Only submissions from ActiveBass members will be considered.
• Remember to include your ActiveBass login name with your submission.

MP3 Information
1. Your login name
(i.e. "rockguy")

2. The name of the song
(i.e. "My Cool Tune")

3. The URL of the MP3 file on the Web
(i.e. "http://www.mysite.com/myband/mycooltune.mp3")

4. The URL of a photo of yourself on the Web
(i.e. "http://www.mysite.com/myband/mypicture.jpg")

5. A one-sentence description of the MP3
(i.e. "My Cool Tune is a metal song written last year for my band's new CD")

6. The musical style of the MP3
(i.e. "Rock", "Metal", "Blues", etc.)

7. The equipment used on the recording
(i.e. what basses, amps, effects, etc. were used?)

8. A few instructional paragraphs describing the MP3
(i.e. what tunings, scales, rhythms were used?)

Other Helpful Advice & Tips
  • If you do not submit all of the information listed above, your submission will not be considered.
  • If you do not submit at least a few paragraphs for item #8 above, your submission will not be considered. If you're not sure what to write, take a look at what others have submitted.
  • If you have questions about where you can post your picture and MP3 for possible consideration, you can find some basic info in our site FAQ, which describes the basics of how to obtain free web space for the hosting of MP3 and image files.
  • Submission of MP3 information is not a guarantee that it will be published. ActiveBass also reserves the right to edit your submission in accordance with our Terms and Conditions of Use
