Yamaha QY70 for the drums
This is a bass feature track off of my new solo album that is coming out in a few months. It has a latin kinda feel to it but is not very representative of the album itself. I just thought it would make a good MP3 for the site.

I recorded the melody and chord part on one track at the same time and then went in and did the solo track that comes in near the middle. All the songs on the CD flow one into the other with no breaks and this tune actually comes out of a really weird improv that I did with an 8 peice group that's about 10 minutes long. I programmed the drums myself and that is me doing the cymbal sound with my voice near the end of the tune. My neighbor and great guitarist/vocalist Andre Stephen played guitar and sang.

I like how the song builds in layers. It's pretty much the same bass chrodal part and melody over and over but the rhythm get's busier and busier.

Hope you enjoy. Let me know what ya think.

Cheers, Chris
