This tune is in 3/4 and has a pretty static/open chord progression that moves from G Minor7 to Bb Minor7.

I was really trying to go for a very fluid sounding approach due to the open nature of the tune. It can be hard to get this fluid feel across during an electric bass solo due to the directness of the sound. This type of legato feel is something I have been working on for the past couple of years. With any luck I'll have it together by the time I'm 80!

The solo starts with a muted sound that I achieved through lightly laying my right hand over the strings while I played the lines. I tried to achieve a kind of opening of the sound as I built the line from muted to non-muted.

There are a few points in the solo where I try to hint at a double stop blues guitar kind of thing. I do this by playing the root of the chord on top (G) with the pinky on the left hand and grabbing the bluesey notes of the minor 3rd and #11 on the bottom with by middle and index fingers.

Hope you enjoy!
