I had the opportunity to hear the Yellowjackets at Birdland with Felix Pastorius on bass; Bob Mintzer mentioned that 30 years previous he shared the stage with Felix's father, and so had come "full circle." I brought my two daughters to hear them, too. A great band of course, but it was especially gratifying to hear Jaco's son with them, holding down the bass chair with style.
