I've been on AB for some years now and I have learned a lot from all my fellow bassplayers..perhaps everybody's practising their fingers off to share some more experiences and good tips? At least I do! LOL

How's it going Bo.

I haven't contributed much lately because I've been swamped here at work. Business is up 125% over last year. I don't have a life any more. hahaha

I do still make time to play my bass most days. Too bad I still suck. Well I suck less maybe but still...

I started singing a bit in the hope that I had a little hidden talent but unfortunately I sing about as well as I play. Still, it's a lot of fun trying and when I get my vocal processor maybe technology can make it sound like I have some talent. Not holding my breath though...

A little slower maybe. The site has been slow before - in an off and on kind of way. But yet it has managed to stay alive. Don't count on it going off the grid anytime soon.

I must admit that I haven't been on it for quite sometime. This was
due to it slowness when I accessed it the last couple of times.

I decided to come back just when the site started to slow right down. At that stage I just said "to hell with it", but it was nice to see regular posters of AB on Facebook.

But like Roger, Facebook just annoys me now. I think I have grown out of it or something.

I am just so busy IRL and to be honest I participate on another site on which I am a moderator, so when I do go online I usually pop over there to see are there issues to be discussed/voted on etc.

However, I would hate to see AB die. I still have a real soft spot for this place if I am honest and I have been trying to look in when I can to at least browse if not post.

The fact that the forum software has not been updated since 1924 does not help either, but in a funny way I kind of like that. It reminds me that some things dont (or dont have to) change to be relevant and important.

I like this site the way it is as well. It doesnt need to change. If only the general software user realized that appearance doesn't say anything about function we'd all be better off. I hate cosmetic changes that put function last.

I think we might be getting an update in the near future. They updated Wholenote and are working out some of the bugs now.

I see the updates have been applied. So far it's not too bad. The function seems the same overall. Let's hope there aren't too many bugs.

Even though it's only cosmetic I do like the appearance. It's pretty easy on the eyes. Now all we need is a couple of cute bass playing chicks. lol

I can't complain either. It's a pretty pleasing color scheme and a nice layout.

Facebook is for the "normal" people who have no
special talent, and just wish to have a presence
on the internet.

I am also a moderator and a customer support
person on another site.

I think "Nipplegate" was the thing that seriously
hurt AB; I am hoping it can recover from this,
eventually.

I think the fact that I got directed here from Mo's post on facebook speaks volumes for me.

I think Nipple Gate was key and a lot of the soul got ripped out of here at that time imo. As Pete S says, good to see that there are many of the members that were around at that time are still here so I susect that AB with carry on for a while yet.

As for me I divide my time between F/B and a UK orientated Basssite which has caused me to part with loads of cash, satisfying ongoing GAS symptoms.

I do miss Vern though, have lost contact with him totally, which is a real shame!!

How's life over the sea, things picked up for you I hope??

Busy over here, two bands, soon to be one which'll be replaced by being a hired gun in a mates outfit playing soul and jazz - yes really ROFL!!!

Ha ha...... Yeah. The summer in our part of the world is always a let down.

I am very busy. I have my own business (which is VERY quiet atm) and a couple of part time jobs. I have the band on top of that as well but I am not complaining. I am lucky to have any work at the moment.

Hope the missus and the family are good mate.

I still have the same four basses (G&L, Stingray, Lakland and Rickenbacker) and play them all whenever I can. I think I have a bit of everyting with that lot so I am not hankering after anything new.

I was thinking of getting into recording music via PC though. I have only ever used a stand alone recording studio so I am reading up on good audio interfaces and software at the moment.

Christ knows when I'll get the time to record mind you, but hopefully when things pick up here I can get back into a regular 9 - 5 thing rather than the mad hours I am working now.
