Ashdown C210 T MAG300 Evo II Direct Line problem

I've been trying to figure out why my amp won't play through the PA. Everyone else in the band can use the PA, and I don't think there's anything wrong with the cord I'm using, but I don't keep my gear at home, so I don't usually get enough time to mess with it. I was wondering if maybe there's something I don't know about the buttons on the amp, or if I'm doing something else wrong. Any help is appreciated.

Well, I looked at the manual for that amp, and I do not have an answer. Next to where the balanced input (they call this the "Direct Inject") is located it what appears to be a control knob. Not much is mentioned about this but I assume you have fiddled with it. One thing you did mention was the cord...try unplugging the cord from a known working mic and plug it into the DI on your amp. Onee other thing you might try is the Effects Send plug...just plug that into the mixer and see what happens.

Hope this helps.

Cool. I won't be able to get to my amp until probably Monday at the earliest, but I'll try out what you suggested. Wish I still had my manual so I could just bring it with me to practice. I'll let you know how it goes either way.

I hooked a regular guitar cord into the jack that says Tuner/Line Output and that worked. I had been plugging a mic cord from the DI jack to the PA, and that's why it wasn't working. I was just trying to use the wrong jack. Thanks for the help :)

you should be able to come out of the DI jack and into the pa....that is what that jack is for.

I found some facts and figures for the amp at the Ashdown site ....

Line Input Impedance 22k Ohms / Input level 0dBu nominal
DI Output 600 Ohms balanced / Level -20dBu nominal
Tuner Output Impedance 22k Ohms, level 0dBu nominal

Looks like the balanced DI out is more like a mic signal .... and the Tuner out is line level - I think its worth experimenting with both into the PA or a mixer to see which sounds better for future reference.

That's what I thought. But for some reason it really doesn't seem like the speaker is doing anything when I plug in like that. When I plug a regular cord into the Tuner Out jack, tho, you can feel my notes if you put your hand near the speaker. But I'm going to try using both jacks at the next practice and see if that does anything new.
