I wrote a ballad for Steel on piano. So, I figured one ballad is all I'm going to get out of this band. In the meantime I was working on another ballad on my piano. My daughter writes lyrics and is trying to put together a CD. I told her she could use this music I was working on. As I was putting the song together I REALLY started liking it. So, I was going to put lyrics to it and include it on the next Steel CD along with the ballad (It Just Rains) that I already have written. I'm getting a little resistance from the band though. This is a condenced version of what it would be for Steel. This is just a rough draft I did on cassette four track so don't expect the greatest quality. It could also use a remix, but we'll see if I feel like mixing it again. But here it is:
I think it's a pretty song and worth including on the CD even though I already have "It Just Rains". Now the bass will be different I'm sure. I just strapped it on and ran through it. But, you get the basic idea of the song.
What do you think? And don't sugar coat it just be straight with me if you would be so kind.
Sounds great so far! I wanted to dance! I wanted to laugh, to cry! I wanted to f--k, but then I always do. I wanted to do all 4! I hope you are putting lyrics to it, and I hope you post it when you do.
Well, neither are the members of my band. But, I like them and obviously write them. They are fine if I just write one. But, two is pushing it for these guys.
well you obviously write them well since i listened to it completely which i rarely can with a rock ballad. your guys should be happy you write them. seems to me in the genre of music you play that is the stuff that gets more airplay and notice...at least around here. keep up the awesome work.
My daughter is going to use this for her project. She is the reason I had to rush recording a version. I picked her up one Suday and she said she wanted to work on the song. Then she told me she needed the music recorded so she could sing to it for a talent show. Of course all that was last minute.
She thinks I'm difficult to work with. She told me that I'm a player not a teacher. Her music teacher must sugar coat things. But, I just say "you're flat, try it again". It's not mean spirited but she is off key, or off time, she's big on that one too. When she does good I tell her. If it's not good I tell her. But, apparently I need to find a way to say it that doesn't hurt her feelings so she says. She just needs to work on it more! I told her she is a bad student and that was the one point that we both agreed on....hehehehe! She's no dummy...she knows.
