I bought this 2011 60th Anniversary P bass, and only had it in my possession for about a week before dropping it off to my repair guy/luthier to have it routed for a J pickup. I chose to have it placed as close to the split p as possible, so it wouldn't sound so thin. Pickups is a Dimarzio DP126 P/J set. It's strung up with a set of Dean Markley md-light nickel strings .102-.46 He was so nervous about doing it for me...I told him it'll be played (or sold....haha), not hidden under my bed.
The bass next to it is the other bass he did for me...it obviously has dual p bass pickups...also Dimarzios. It's a 2009...yes, I've owned the same bass for almost 2 years....and can't believe how much darker the neck has gotten.
