New laboratory

One of the reasons I haven't been posting as much lately is I've been busy building a new analytic chemistry lab. My primary client wants to add a new set of analytic services and I just didn't have the room for the new equipment in the old lab.

Here's the old lab for those of you that weren't around when I posted these years ago.

Here's the new lab. It's got windows!!! I can see what I'm doing. It also has heat, AC and space. I'm a happy camper!

The final piece of equipment is due in December. Next year I'll nearly double my work load. However, I'll have a couple of hard working robots (autosamplers) to help me so hopefully I don't end up working myself to death. I still need time to play my bass.

Thanks Ed. I put a lot of work into it. To keep costs down I did much of the demolition and construction. I had some helpers for the big jobs and an electrition and plumber put in the services but the rest I did myself. Now I just have to make it pay.

Thanks.

It's funny how nice windows are when you've worked in a windowless concrete box for 7 years. And AC is just over the top...
