About a week ago a friend of mine called me and asked if I could fill in a couple of gigs with his band. His bass player had to close his store and sold all his gear. He is relocating for a new job. Yet another small businees closes its doors! So, how we all enjoying that change?...hehehehe! I told him I could but to get me a CD of the material ASAP! He said he had asked another bass player and if he couldn't do it he would call me. This other bass player said he could but now a week later he is having wrist issues, or so he says. I get the call from my friend asking if I could do the gig. I said "Sure". The gig is September 23. That's like three weeks away! I have to learn these 15 songs and be gig ready in three weeks:

Man!.... this music thing is getting to be a bit much! But, it's a really good gig for them and it would be a shame to have to cancel it. They are opening for a big draw regional act. Steve Whiteman's (singer from Kix) band Funny Money. It will be a packed house! But, that's a lot of songs to get down and know in three weeks. It should be interesting.
