Rotosound Tru Bass 88 Strings

It's no secret that I like Rotosound flatwound strings but I recently cam across and ad for Tru Bass 88 strings.

Rotosound's website says:

"Super smooth with ultra low tension transforms any electric bass into a jazzy upright sound. Great on a fretless bass. Also works well with any kind of jazz, fusion, dub and reggae styles."

Anyone out there tried them?

Are those the black nylon wrapped strings? If so, I had them on my
Peavey for a Jazz band once. They fit the bill, but at the time I didn't
feel like they jived with the bass. Now though I might think
differently. They're definitely deep and thuddy as I remember. Now I
want to try them again :)

They should do the part then! I saw a post below
here about filing the nut. On mine, either the E or
the A wouldn't settle, and I had to pop the G into
place when tuning it up, so be aware of that. I was
in a pinch at the time and just used it with the
string sitting on the nut. Not ideal, but didn't
make a huge difference either.

I have a set of those on my Washburn AB20 bass, nice smooth and thumpy with just enough brightness for clarity. Not my favorite strings but they do work on that bass.

Did you have to file your nut? Rotosound's website lists the diameter of the G string as .065 which is quite a bit thicker than most.

Yes....LOL....consider that the standard is .100 for an "E" string therefore, .115 is 15thousand of an inch bigger and that equals to .007 on each side of the string to be filed at the nut..that is substantial...

.125 is of course 1/8 of an inch.

I didn't need to on the Washburn but it was already set up for acoustic electric strings.
