I'm playing his tune "The Egyptian" as a bass duet for Kamil at Capital University a week from tuesday. I'm also working on transcribing some of his solo pieces. Check him out!

There are many fine musicians from Turkey who play a fusion of Middle Eastern music and jazz -- glad to hear there is one more. I'm very fond of an album I own by Rabih al-Khalid, the oud player, called "The Sultan's Picnic" and features Charlie Mariano and Steve Swallow among other fine musicians. Thanks for passing this on.

he is very good. The Egyptian would not play though for some reason, but I listened to the other stuff. Very impressive!
