School of Rock Triumph
So I've been running a club for kids at the (tiny) high school where I teach history, and we put on a show with performances by the jazz group I direct, and two student rock groups. The kids blew everyone away. The second group ended their set with "Carousel" by Blink 182 and "A Certain Romance" by the Arctic Monkeys, and by that time kids were crowd surfing over the mosh pit -- I had to do a little "hands-on" chaperoning so no noses would be broken. Very satisfying to watch the kids go through their paces. We raised quite a bit of money for the club, too (I even sold earplugs!).

Follow-up: All the band members want to do another show ASAP. We'll probably put on a fundraiser for the folks in Japan who have been so hard hit.

Yo Ken...
My fondest memory of school was Mrs Sands my art and music teacher.....
The lessons she taught me will live with me forever, she taught me all about perspective and seeing the unseen in art... and all about the soul of the music....
She was also my first "Woman".... she was far better than any of my girlfriends at the time... I was going on sixteen and she was in her mid forties.... the things she taught me in the stockroom and her car and appartment/flat....... (Sigh!).... Damn it!!! I feel so old now... LOL
