Traynor and Yorkville

I don't hear a lot about Traynor and Yorkville amps on here.

Just recently I got back into bass playing, got a solid body bass and needed an amp. I tried a lot of used gear and was most impressed by a Yorkville and a Traynor. I got the Traynor based on watts and price. Both sounded good and have the features I wanted. The Traynor (combo) seems very well made and I like it a lot.

Anyone else playing Traynors or Yorkville?

Yep, my main amp is a Yorkville Bassmaster XS800 (which has since been given a black faceplate and renamed the Traynor Dynabass 800H) & my very first bass amp back in the '70s was a Traynor Bass Master (low wattage - all tube & dead cheap at the time) which, interestingly was first sold in the '60s as the Dynabass.

Yorkville makes great products but has been re-branding as Traynor as Yorkville as it's also the Canadian distributor for Gibson, Gallien Kreuger etc

You can pick up some great deals on used Tarynor/Yorkville combos and, like Peavey, they're built like tanks.

I was much more impressed with the Traynor and Yorkville than I have been with the Peaveys out there. My Traynor is an old one - Bloc80.

I think they put Blocs out under Yorkville and Traynor nameplates.

I'll say. I just drilled the back of my TS-25B to put in a speakon connector. The cabinet is made of 1.25 in. plywood. It was hell to drill through.

And in case you're wondering why...

I plan on getting a GK EB200 head to power the 15 inch speaker. That'll make it either a 25W or a 140W amp depending on which one I use. I think it'll be pretty neat.

yorkies are nice, one of my first heads was a yorkville bm400. It was nice, built like a tank and very versatile with the 10 band eq. I've also had one of their 4-10's and it was good too, but I prefer the sound of 15's so, for me it was lacking a little low end.
I've been wanting to play through the all tube traynor amp they have out now, but can't seem to come across one. I've heard they're nice and the controls are fairly intuitive.

I have used Yorkville speakers in the past as the tops on our PA System. Excellent speakers, well made and highly durable. Pretty to look at too! They had a blue carpet effect to them.
