WOW, I'm finally happy with my sound!!!!!!!!

I played a benefit gig last night with my band (Kerosene09.com) and for the first time since I've been playing, I've finally been happy with how "I" sounded. This is after I got rid of the 6x10 and switched to a 2x15 setup and then ran a tube DI to the board. So what am I playing now...Hartke lh1000, 2 gk blk 1x15 cabs (I painted the Scottish flag on the grills, because I'm Scottish and that's what we do), and since the LH doesn't have a pre/post eq switch for the DI I purchased an Art tube mp to run to the board. So now about the only complaint I have, which will soon get fixed, is...The 15's can get a little "boomy", but with a nice compression pedal, I can fix that (I've been looking at the digitech bass squeeze). I've chosen that one, because of the high/low compression and it would be the one pedal out of that series that I don't own yet. I think I'm going to make another post about these pedals too.

It is a good feeling when you finally nail the sound you want - you have it in your head for so long but sometimes cannot convert it to reality.

For me it was a Hartke 2500 and a 1 x 15 and 2 x 10.

Very cool!

Also you might be interested in knowing that
painting Scottish flags on your grill will result
in a warmer, more classic tone and give you a
slight lower mid-range bump. You'll really sit in
the mix well.

I hear ya man! I too have spent much time - and a significant chunk of change in a quest for my sound. Sometimes, the hardest part about upgrading gear was getting it past the wifes radar. shhhh!
