Kustom 250

Ive been trying to find a good cabinet that will work well with the kind I of head Ive got. I admit Im a complete novice when it comes to amps. Im trying to get a cabinet that is small enough to carry in a backseat of a car, but wont blow up if I use the head we got. The kind of head we got is a Kustom 250. Do any of you guys have any suggestions on what kind of cabinet would work well with the head we got?

An amp like that sure takes me back......it screams 2 x 15 cab but as you're looking for something a little more portable probably a 1 x 15 - I'm kind of partial to Eden cabs myself.

If memory serves me correctly these amps were a bit on the noisy side so you'd probably want to stay away from a cab with a tweeter (or at least get one than can be turned off).

I LOVE those old Kustom roll and tuck amps! My first real bass amp was a Kustom 200 with a 2-15 cab. As mentioned below, it made a lot of noise, and I blew the cab up way too easily, but it sure was cool! (or is that kool??)

Definitely ......Kool

I remember suffering sever Kustom envy back in the '70s but all I could afford was a Traynor BassMate & 2 x15 cabs, cheap back then - overpriced retro now.

Kustom was making guitar and bass amps and cabs back then. They also made a PA systems. Back then, the Shure Vocal Master was the king of PA systems. Another company that was making tuck and roll covered gear was Plush. Anyone have one of those? I remember driving to many a gig with the Vocal Master columns tied to the top of our Rambler American station wagon. Ah, the history!

One thing you guys might not know. Kustom used to make a brand of guitar called Gecko (I think that's the name.) I used to own a Gecko twelve string years ago. I'm still kicking myself for getting rid of it. I haven't been able to find any info on them since.
