Be Thankful For What You Have, Not what You Don't Have!

A female friend of mine calls me the other day telling me how bad her life is. Yet, she has such a good life! She is always focused on what she doesn't have. All I could tell her was "You create your own despair"

I just can't put it any better than this guy does in this video:

Sill feeling sorry for yourself?

Dave, I think that you are the comsumate warrior. You can battle and have some serious chops, and you are adaptable in your capabilities, but you are also tender and nurturing on the inside. We as men are built to take a beating and still keep on, but the result is that what folks tend to see is the testosterone on the outside and not really get to know the teddy bear inside. Great post...

Yon Dave,

Thanks for that.

2008, I developed heart problems some of them genetic that can't be fixed.....but some can be controlled.
The doc wanted to retire me and wanted my answer at the next visit to her.
Sitting feeling low and feeling sorry for myself in the waiting room on appointment day, I overheard a guy talking to a nurse and he mentioned that he had just finished nightshift at work.... The nurse asked how he was feeling because she had not seen him since his heart transplant........
It's the best tonic I've ever had.

I'm still going to work doing the same job.....

Money cannot buy this kind of character. This man has a gigantic heart, a great mind and a strong will to achieve, overcome and adapt. If this guy ran for president, I'd vote for him. This clip should be required viewing for whiners, complainers and those who play the "victim card" at the drop of a hat. No matter how many times I've seen this, the message doesn't get old. Great post Dave!

Yes, Amen to this! When I catch myself whining or feeling sorry for myself, I just remember that compared to the rest of the world, 99.9 % of it, I live like a king. I have food, shelter and clothing. So much more than so many people. Thanks for this post!
