My new amp GK MB500

After much shopping and deliberation finally decided to pull the trigger on a new amp, my first in like 20 years. Decided to go with the GK MB500
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MB500
because of the price, size and features plus the fact that it will work on any & all of my gigs so the heavy dinosaurs home can stay home. It will match up with any cab from a 1x10, 1x12 for small acoustic stuff, 1x15 for medium size and jazz gigs or will run the monster PV 2x15EV & PV 112H for R&R gigs. At first I really wanted a combo to replace my aging Polytone Mini Brute III amps that I love but i found that too restricting wanting something more versatile. I'll keep you posted after I use it on a few gigs.

I tried out the 200W version at a shop a couple of weeks ago - I was amazed that they managed to capture that GK tone in such a tiny package. Enjoy!

Congrats Brad. I've read some excellent reviews on this amp. I've heard it's comparable to the small Markbass amps, and goes for a little less.

Gallien Krueger MB500 micro sized bass amp with super size features.
1st impressions: This is one pretty shiny little thing, amazing something so small and light can have all these features and power. It is well put together although there is a slight sound on the shake test. My only issue so far is the placement of the limiter switch, this switch could be damaged if rack mounted, would rather it was on back panel. Thru my Walter Box 1x10 it is surprisingly warm but much of that is an artifact of the speaker, it easily fills the room with warm round bass, perfect for those little sit down gigs or for recording. The small footswitch included for boost is a nice size with detachable cable and includes a status LED, nice touch. I transport my pedal board in a keyboard bag and the MB500 fits in the front pocket perfectly, very handy. First gig with a loud rock band pushing a 2x15 EV & 1x12H was loud and clear, with the master half way up was plenty loud and the DI out worked flawlessly. 2nd gig was a moderate volume outdoor jazz thru a 1x15 and once again the MB500 shined thru nicely.

Sounds like you have a winner Brad. I think if I ever downsize I may go with the same amp, along with a 212 or 410 GK NEO cabinet.
