Replacing a bridge, not sure how to remove the old one.

Hey, I have an old epiphone SG bass and the action on the bridge even when set at the very lowest is just too high. As a result I'm replacing it, but I'm not sure how to remove the old one, or how much trouble it might give me.

The bridge on it is like the one in this picture http://images.miretail.com/products/optionLarge/Epiphone/533561.jpg

Anyone know a good way of removing that? Thanks alot.

Are you sure the problem is the bridge?
Could be the neck is relieved to much or the nut was replaced and may be to high.

I'd already adjusted the neck, the factory setting is just an uncomfortable level for me. The new bridge is on and it's much more comfortable.

just unscrew the 2 large screws. I doubt it's the bridge though, I mean, think about it for a sec. Those bridges are sent out of the factory and the action is just fine. In order for the bridge to be at fault when the action is too high, it would have to get thicker somehow. Metal usually does not grow like that. As Larry stated you can be %99.99999 positive the problem is either too much bow in the neck, or someone replaced the nut and the slots are not deep enough.

Yo Brennan,

Listen to the Guys they speak wise words, Nut, truss, or even shim the neck to adjust the angle.
