Patrick Pfeiffer

I realize many of you AB old timers are very
familiar with Patrick. However, many of you newer
folks may not be.

Patrick has several published books, as in real,
published books, from major publishers, that you
can find in any really good music store. He also
has posted a lot of lessons on AB. The only reason
I bring this up is that he has had less and less
time to devote to AB, and so the newer people may
not know his name, or how valuable his lessons
are.

So, the point of this is, look up his lessons on
AB, and seek out his books in your local music
store, if you really want to learn about bass.
There is a ton he can teach you.

Kelly

Happy New Year, Pat !!

At least I can say I had some lessons by him. I met him at the last Bass Player Expo that was in NYC. (2007 ?). I can't remember how the conversation started, but we talked for a good 20-30 min. (He could have been schoomzing with famous bassplayers; Andre Gouche, who was playing a few feet away.) He is so approachable, personable, knowledgable...just "able". When He was in NYC,I would barrel out of work to get to his studio. When he has shown me has definately helped.

If you get a chance to read his books, take a lesson or get advice, do so.

I saw it! That was awesome. I need to revisit that one and (hopefully) you'll have posted a comment on how you came to be in possesion of it.

Glad to see you still stay in touch from time to time...

Just a quick story; "Dummies" helped me out so much I felt compelled to give my copy to a non profit looking to teach a group of musicians. Not only was my "annotated" copy of dummies in the gift bag, I gave 'em a bass to go with it. So, in a way, I paid it forward I suppose. Had to repay what I learned from you in some way.

Enough of that. You're busy; I'm sleepy. Later my friend.
