New Bass: Yes, it was about that time!

Photobucket
YES, It has been a while since I bought & sold any of my basses - so this is the latest movement on my gear! I sold my 1984 Ibanez Roadstar and my ATK to buy a Markbass 1x12 Travelers extension cab (I need more than a 1x12 combo for outdoors and larger venues) and I sold my Schecter 5 string to purchase this DiPinto Belvedere Standard (the one on the left). That look - along with a vintage p-bass - is the look & sound I'm looking for my band. She has a pretty slim neck - and that takes some getting used to, but she sounds sweet. I currently have LaBella nylon-wrapped flats on her, but will probably put GHS Precision flats on soon. Totally digging the retro look and that buckled bridge!!!

Very nice bass, and gear Ivan!

How are you liking the Markbass rig? I used my 210 combo at the last gig, and never turned it higher than 3.5. This was in a narrow bar & grill. We don't mic or DI our instruments though, the PA is for vocals only.

Do you guys play through a PA??

We DI and play thru our PA at the larger venues, but the small ones, we only run our vocals thru. I like my 2x12 set up. I only use my 1x12 combo for those really small places though (we play at two that are that way). The other 3 we play at regularly, I go through the PA on one and just play thru both combo & extension cab. I really like Markbass and am extremely happy with it. The only thing with the combo is that the cab is so small it doesn't have as "big" a sound as i would like - but (like I said) it is perfect for those smaller places (and we don't play loud anyway). That extension cab is ported and larger (yet is a custom fit so they stack perfectly) and it gives me that big sound for when I need it.

Yeah, I'm a fan of my markbass rig as well. I do however wish I went with the same rig you have...portability, and power-all in one. At least you can stack yours, where mine sits so low...although, I do get it off the ground by setting it on a dolly.
