Cleaning fretboard

I read some time ago tha tyou can use alcohol to clean your neck and strings after playing without doing harm. It seems to work. The other day I saw "How it's made" and they showed the Gibson production workers putting mineral oil on the rosewood necks to keep the necks smooth. Does anybody know if you can continue to use mineral oil on a regular basis and will it harm the strings?

I guess I'm looking at this as 3 procedures:

1. Oiling the fretboard.
2. Cleaning the fretboard .
3. Cleaning the strings.

Use alcohol to clean your strings after each playing.

Oiling the neck doesn't need to be done that often. ( Less often let's say than changing the strings. )

So, every other time when you change to a new set of strings, clean the
fretboard with alcohol and 0000 steel wool, then oil, wipe 'clean' with a fresh cloth,
have lunch, wait a half hour before swimming and putting on the new set of strings.

jmo.
